Fred She Said, Ornate Cut Butterfly

Hello on this Sunday evening!  I am currently faced with the reality that winter break is over and I am back to work tomorrow.  But, before I go I wanted to post my most recent card made with a great template from Tracey and the Fred She Said store.  I LOVE these butterflies as they are just so beautiful and make any card look magnificent.  They are currently for sale in the store and you can click HERE if you want to go and check them out!

Believe it or not there wasn't any coloring involved in this one, but I did use my worm lipstick distress stamp pad to shade the edges of my Martha Stewart butterfly border punch.  The two larger butterflies are from the Fred She Said store, aren't they just fabulous?  I used the same printed paper for the back of my butterflies as I did for the background of the card.  I also added self-adhesive jewels to the large butterflies heads and also to the butterflies on my border.

Kraftin' Kimmie, Double Fold Card and a Tutorial

Hellooooooo on this lovely Saturday!  The sun is shining, the family is all home and I am here in my wonderful craft space, what could be better!  Ok, so it's not so warm outside but I'll take the sun for any reason at any time right now!


I've been on winter break this week and after a quick trip to Virginia to visit my mother-in-law I've spent the rest of the week cleaning and crafting.  Today I am posting a card with a double fold and an adorable Kraftin' Kimmie image!  The image is called "Snow White" but is very versatile so you'll notice that I didn't color her in the traditional Snow White colors!  She is an absolutely beautiful stamp  and you can find it HERE at 7 Kids College Fund.

I colored Snow White using my copic markers.  The colors I used were G94, G24, G21, G20 and W3, W1 and W00.  I also used my markers in my air brush to color my rhinestones and bottom flower.  I used G28 for the flower and G24 for the rhinestones.  I added Glossy Accents to her eyes and just a small amount of diamond stickles to her hair bow.

Here's a look at the inside of the card.

The sentiment is from the Verve stamp set "Beautiful You".  I used a hunter green Stampin Up stamp pad to stamp the sentiment and then I cut it out using a Spellbinders Label die.

 For the inside of my card I thought it would be nice to use for a photo card or simply have several places to write a greeting or add additional sentiments.

I've been wanting to try a You Tube video tutorial and I thought this style of card was a good place to start.  This card looks wonderful when put together but is really fairly simple to make.  I would love for you to take a stop by, check out the video and even have some feedback about what you think.  It will help me determine what other videos to make in the future.

Elisabeth Bell World - A Recipe Card

Good morning and Happy Friday!  Unlike most Friday's when I am so glad this day has finally arrived, this week Friday just came way to fast!  Why do vacations always fly by so much faster than the work week!?


Today I am posting a card for the new Elisabeth Bell World Challenge.   It is my last post as a guest DT and I've enjoyed my time creating projects for this company.  Elisabeth Bell images are just wonderful and I'm glad I had this opportunity.


For my card I used the Belle's and Whistle's stamp, "A Child's Prayer".  The inside of my card is where I have my recipe.  Now, If you're like me you're wondering what type of recipe I am talking about.  It is actually a food recipe that I have placed on the inside of my card.  My recipe is for Classic Spritz Cookies.

To start I colored my image with copic markers but kept it very simple!  I thought this stamp spoke for itself and simple just seemed the way to go.  The flowers are Primas and the pearls are Reflections self adhesive.  The paper is K&Company and is two sided.

The sentiment on the inside is a quote from mother Theresa and is an Inkadinkado stamp.  Below is my Classic Spritz cookie recipe, which can be found on the inside of the card.

Tiddly Inks - Fly Me to the Moon

Hello, hope you're all having a great Thursday evening!  I am but I am already getting sad because my vacation is rapidly coming to an end!  Back to work before you know it and I've barely had time to do anything around the house.  Laundry has taken up a lot of my vacation.  I can't wait until spring when we can shed some of those layers which means less clothes to wash, WooHoo!


So, today I am posting a card using a Tiddly Ink image called "Fly Me to the Moon".  If you're a follower of Tiddly Inks then you know that this week's challenge was to make a shaker card. WELL, I have never made one before so I thought I would give it a try.  My brain went a little overboard on the design and it took me most of the afternoon to make it!  Thanks goodness after a rough start my son decided to take a nice long nap!

You should know that making this shaker card took me FOREVER!  Making the shaker part just gave me a run for my money BUT I finally figured it out!  I used acetate, cut out two pieces in slightly different sizes and then closed off three sides.  I added my shaker materials to the top, which in this case are star cut outs and Martha Stewart luster glass microbeads, which were perfect for this,  I used gold and blue.  I colored my adorable Tiddly Inks image using my copic markers, cut it out, and then adhered it to the front of my card.

Here is the inside of my card.  As I said I got a little carried away and added a flap with a moon cut out and then added shaker materials here as well.  By the time I got to this part I had a better understanding of what I was doing so making the flap went much quicker.  I left the inside blank for a nice note to be written to the recipient of the card.

I colored my images using copic markers.  The background borders are shaded using my So Saffron and More Mustard stamp pads from Stampin Up.  The sentiment for both cards is also from Stampin' Up's Yummy stamp set.

Fred She Said - Empty Pockets Shrugger

Hi all, Happy Monday!  I know many of you have had the time off from work and I hope you are enjoying the extra time you are having!  We are on winter break and it is much needed!  After months of being cooped up inside we just need some time to chill out before heading back in to learn some more!


Today's projects uses a Fred She Said image.  It is the boy Empty Pocket Shrugger.  I decided to make this a clean and simple card.  After I put this card together I really liked the clean and simple look, so I kept it!

See, doesn't this little cutie look great all by himself?!  I colored this image using copic markers and believe it or not I didn't use any extra embellishments for the image.  I didn't even use my stamp pad to shade the background, I didn't think it needed it!  The only embellishment I used were three Bella's baubles.  Sometimes an image just speaks for itself and that's what I felt about this one!

Elisabeth Bell - Little Rapunzel

HELLO and Happy Sunday!  First things first, if you are here for the Digi Bell New Release Blog Hop then scroll down and you will find it!  The card I'm posting today is Elisabeth's digi image, "Little Rapunzel".  I've used this image to make a side step card and you can see it below.  

So I've colored the image using my copic markers and I've used the colors R39, R37, R35, R32, R30 and B28, B26, B24 and B21.  Her scarf and shirt have diamond stickles added to them.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company's March 2010 Kit of the Month.  The flowers were made using a Fiskars hand punch.

Meljen's New Release Thursday

Hi and happy Thursday!  Today is new release day at Meljen's Designs and once again you won't be disappointed with what Melissa has come up with.  It has been a very busy and crazy week in our household so I am going to try and make this post a short one.  With that being said here are Melissa's new images and a card I used making Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake.

Well, I colored my image using copic markers and added a little diamond stickles around the candle flames.  My background is shaded using my bashful blue stamp pad from Stampin Up and I used a Martha Stewart and EK Success punch for my bottom borders.

7 Kids College Fund - Challenge # 15

HELLOOOOO and Happy Wednesday!  Today starts a new challenge over at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog.  For this challenge you are required to make a square card and of course, if you want to be entered into the drawing to win a prize you need to use an image carried by 7 Kids College Fund.

I used a Magnolia image for my card and she is called Dancing Party Tilda.  I colored her using copic markers and for the blues used B18, B16, B12 and B000.  I added a little crystal stickles to the ruffles around her dress.  The embellishments are I-Rock and the flowers are Primas.  The blue ones were colored using my copic airbrush and my B16 and B000 marker.

Tiddly Inks - Challenge # 38, Monochromatic

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!  Today is a new challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.  This week we are looking for your monochromatic entries.  The DT has done a wonderful job with examples of how this will look so you can click HERE if you are unsure of how to begin.

I colored my image using copic markers using all RV colors, except for her skin.  The background is shaded using my pink pirouette and pretty in pink stamp pads from Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from a Verve stamp set called Beautiful You and the flowers are Primas.  The crystals are Reflections self-adhesive.  The background paper is from K&Company valentine set.  I added crystal stickles to the ruffles of her dress to give her just a little sparkle!

Fred She Said - Black-Eyed Susan

HELLO!  It's Sunday evening and I can't believe the weekend is gone!  Back to work tomorrow and I wish this week would go as fast as the weekend does!  Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow!  My day will be full of very excited Kindergarteners and hopefully finding some time to spend with my family!


My card for today is made using a Fred She Said image called, yup, Black-Eyed Susan!  I really love the look of these flowers but always have a hard time deciding how yellow or orange the petals of the flower should be.  I tired to combine both to give me a pale orange, bright yellow flower.

I of course colored using my copic markers and used the colors YR14, YR12, Y17, Y15, Y13 and YG67, YG63, G24 and G21.  I shaded the background with my Bashful Blue Stampin Up stamp pad.  The frame around the flower is cut out using my SCAL program.  The flowers are prima and the flourished jewels are Recollections self adhesive.  I've been trying to use a lot of bright colors on my projects lately to try and get rid of my winter blues.  This has been a cold wet winter and I have had enough!

Belle's n' Whistles - Beary Big Hug

Hello out there and HAPPY FRIDAY!  This has seemed like the never ending week here but that is not unusual at this time of winter.  Us northeasters often get fed up with cold, snow and being cooped up for the winter!  Yesterday the sun peeked it's head out and my mood lightened just a little!  I sure do hope that groundhog is right and that spring is on it's way!


So, onto my project.  Today I made a card using an Elisabeth Bell Belles n' Whistles stamp.  The stamp is called "Beary Big Hug" and of course is adorable!  Elisabeth Bell has become one of my favorite artists and I always enjoy coloring her images.  This is one of her rubber stamps and you can find it HERE at 7 Kids College Fund.

I colored my image using copic markers and used the colors YG67, YG63, G21,G20 and R22, R12, R01 and R000.  I added diamond stickles to the heart on the bear cheeks.  The background is shaded using my Baja Breeze stamp pad from Stampin Up.  I am really enjoying using the air brush for my copic markers.  It does make it so much easier to correspond flowers, ribbon and other embellishments.  My large flowers are white and I used my airbrush with my R01 markers on the edges.  The inside are Prima roses and came with the pink rose in the middle.  I LOVE them and they just fit this card SO perfectly!  The sentiment is from TLC.    The pearls around the edges of the scalloped circle are self-adhesive.

Meljen's New Release Thursday

Well, It's Thursday so that means time for new release images from Meljen's Designs.  As always, Melissa has done an outstanding job with this week's images.  Here they are.

So, along with this week's new images, which can be found at Whimsy stamps, is a new challenge at the DT challenge blog.  This week the challenge is to make a tag.  Now, you should know that the rules have changed at the DT blog.  In order to be chosen for the top 5 each week you must have a Meljen's image on your project.  You can still enter the challenge for the random drawing with any image, but the top 5 are now reserved for those cards using Meljen's images only.  If you don't have any Meljen images, don't worry, she has TONS of freebies and just click here to see a few.

OK, here's my project for this week using the new image, "Apple of my Eye".

I colored my image using copic markers and added diamond stickles to the heart on the apple.  The background is shaded using my bashful blue stamp pad from Stampin Up.  I often use this color for background shading of my images.  I wanted my tag to be a little different than any I have made before so I used a circle shape and offset the smaller circle.  The embellishments on the scalloped circles are added with the Ice White Viva Decor Perfect Pearl pen.  The flourished white embellishments on the larger circle are I-Rock beads.

Tiddly Inks - Catch My Heart

Hi all and glad you stopped by my blog this Wednesday evening.  I am posting a project using a Tiddly Inks image, and she is super cute!  The image is called, "Catch My Heart" and could be used for so many occasions, including this week's challenge at Tiddly Inks.  The challenge this week is called, "Love is in the Air", and you are to create a card using a romantic theme!  Now, I didn't follow this theme but I wanted you to know what was happening at Tiddly Inks this week!


OK, so here's my card with this wonderful image!

So, I colored my card using my copic markers and I wanted to use bright, spring colors.  I am sooo tired of all things winter so I wanted to cheer myself up by using bright, cheery colors!  The markers I used are B05, B02, B00, B0000 and YG03, YG01, YG00, YG0000.  Her boots are Y08, Y06, Y02, and Y00.  I added Glossy effects to the puddle and crystal and diamond stickles to the hearts.  I shaded the background using my bashful blue Stampin Up stamp pad.  The pink embellishments around the scalloped circle are I-Rock jewels but I attached them with a soldering iron.  The flowers are primas and the clear, swirled jewels are Reflections self adhesive.

Elisabeth Bell - Pat-A-Cake

Hi, so glad you stopped by my blog on this Monday morning.  Today I am posting a card using an Elisabeth Bell image.  This image is so perfect for my family as the two kids in this picture look about the same age as my own son and daughter.  I just love watching them when they spend time together, so I enjoyed making this card!

I colored my image using copic markers and added diamond stickles to her bow.  I also added Glossy Effects to her shoes to give them a "dressy" look.  The background is shaded using my Bashful Blue  and Sahara Sand stamp pads from Stampin Up.  The background heart border is a large Martha Stewart Border.  I used the hearts that were punched out for this border, added some gold Tsukineko shimmer and glued them to my corners.  The flowers were shaded using my airbrush and I had a lot of fun playing around with the colors on these!  Gold pearls are added to the center of the smaller hearts and the flowers.

Here is a close up of the image.  I have been playing around with trying to get strawberry blonde hair.  That is my daughters color hair and it is just so beautiful.  I finally like the look of this hair.  The colors I used to get this effect were E19, YR24, YR21 and Y11.

Fred She Said - Tattered Rose Spray

Hi all, hope you're having a great Saturday afternoon!   As usual for this winter the weather is messy here so we are just hanging out inside the house for the evening.  Actually, that's what we usually do anyway!LOL!  For once it is raining which only means that when the sun goes down we will have ice instead of snow!


My project this afternoon uses a brand new cutting file from the Fred She Said store!  I LOVE this cutting file and couldn't wait to use it!  Playing with paper and putting it together to look just right is so much fun!  The file gives you a whole page of various size rose petals and  leaves.

I shaded the edges of the roses using my marigold morning stamp pad from Stampin Up.  I decided to make yellow roses for two reasons.  One, I've had a lot of pink and red the last few weeks with Valentine's Day coming up and two, I simply love yellow roses.  I don't know why, yellow isn't my favorite color, but I do love a yellow rose! I also added a mixture of water and Aztec Gold perfect pearls, also from Stampin Up.  The leaves are shaded on the outside with my True Thyme stamp pad.

The corner swirls were cut using my Cricut Expression and the background paper is from Stampin' Up.  This was paper they gave away several years ago during their "Sal-a-bration" time.  The yellow pearls are self-adhesive and are from Michael's.

Phew, now that I have all of that out of the way here is my project for the hop.

I used Lil' Love Devil and XOXO Stitches on my card.  I colored the images using copic markers and I used the colors R29, R27, R24, R22 and C9, C7, C5, C3 and C1.  I added crystal stickles to the devils pitchfork and tail.  My card is a side stair card and it is the first attempt I've made at one.  I added hearts to the front of the stairs and these are punches I got many years ago from Creative Memories.  The white embellishments are I-Rock embellishments.

7 Kids College Fund - Challenge # 14

Hi everyone, so glad you stopped by on this snowy Tuesday!  It is so bad here in the Northeast that they are even closing city offices to keep people off of the roads!  A good day to stay home, keep warm and craft!  I think that's what I'll do!  I tell ya though I like snow but enough is enough!  Time for spring to come around here and the cold, wet weather to go away!


Today at the 7 Kids College Fund challenge Blog a new challenge is starting for the next two weeks!  This challenge is to create a project that has hearts on it!  Of course, don't forget to use an image from 7 Kids College Fund if you want to be entered in the drawing to win a prize!  For my project I used a Sarah Kay stamp, I just love Sarah Kay images!  It is called "First Kiss".

I colored my image using my copic markers and the colors I used were B39, B37, B34, B32, B28, B26,B24 and B21.  I also used, G05, G03, G00, G0000 and R22, R20, R00, R0000.  My heart border is a large Martha Stewart Punch, which I love!  I shaded the edges of the scalloped circle and heart border with my Pink Pirouette stamp pad from Stampin Up.  It is a very light subtle shading, which is what I wanted but it is hard to see in my picture.  I grabbed my sentiment from the web and printed it out on my computer.  The jewels are self-adhesive swirls that I cut the edges off of and added to my card.  The flowers are primas, which are carried at the 7 Kids College Fund store.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday

Well, it's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks!  This week the challenge is to use a kiss on your card in image or sentiment.  What a perfect idea for the month of February, since today is amazingly February 1.  I can't believe we already have the first month of 2011 gone and a new one beginning!


For my card I used a kiss in sentiment, I put XO's on my card.  Yup, hugs and kisses!  I used to love when I was a kid and my grandparents or parents would put that on a card!  The Tiddly Inks image I used is called "Hedgie Hug".  I knew once I saw this image it would fit perfectly for this weeks challenge!  So, here it is!

I colored my image using copic markers and added crystal stickles to the hearts and antennae.  The colors I used were R29, R27, R24, R22 and R12, R01, R000.  The background is shaded with my Groovy Guava Stampin Up stamp pad.  The XO's were created in inkscape and cut out on my Cricut Expression using my SCAL program.  The background paper is K&Company Valentine paper.  The jewels are self-adhesive and I got them from the dollar bin at Michael's.  The sentiment is also a stamp from the dollar bin at Michael's.
