Meljen's New Release and New Challenge Thursday

Wow, I can't believe it is Thursday already.  One week of vacation almost gone but I have had a nice time hanging out with the kids and visiting with grandparents.  The school year is so hectic I just don't get to see them as I would like so vacation is a nice time to catch up.  The kids had a great time at my grandparents yesterday with a cousin playing and catching worms!  Oh, how time flies from when I was a kid and those worms would be caught and I would be chased around the yard with them!  Yup, I was one of those squirmy girls who was afraid of worms.  Thank goodness I grew out of that.

Meljen's images for this week don't have anything to do with worms but are absolutely delicious.  Just perfect for an upcoming birthday or our fourth of July holiday here in the United States.  Take a peek, you'll see what I mean.

Simply delicious, right?  Well if you like these images, which you can of course purchase at Whimsy Stamps, then you'll like our challenge for this week.  This week we have a sketch challenge for you!  Don't forget to try and use one of Melissa's images if you can to be entered into the drawing for the week.  If you haven't had the chance to get any of Melissa's images yet then just stop by the challenge blog.  There are plenty of freebies for you to choose from.

Here's the card I made using on of Melissa's fabulous new images!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - E29, E25, E23, E21, E43, E42, E41, E40R29, R27, R24, R22, RV23, RV21, RV10, RV000
Crystal Effects
sentiment from Unity June 2011 KOM

I made the background paper in Photoshop using a scan of the image that I colored.  I made several versions so I could have some contrast in my card.

A close up of the new colored image from my card.

I hope you have the time to stop by the challenge blog today, see the other great DT cards and hopefully enter our challenge for this week!

Oh and I hope you can stop by our PCP group.  One of our fabulous DT members, Darsie, has set up some wonderful challenges there for you as well!

A Phindy's Place Challenge

Well, this is my second post for the day and my second challenge for the week.  I love Phindy's challenge and have been remiss about not being able to enter the last few months.  This week's challenge is to make a card with circles and so that's what I did!  The Phindy image I used is called Saddle Up and Ride.  This little girl is just such a cutie and reminds me of my one year old niece, who of course is just as cute as a button!

My card isn't the shape of a circle, but I have my image on a circle and my background paper is polka dots!  I used my Zutter distressing tool as well.  It's such a fun tool and I just don't use it often enough!  This card is going to be made into a set and then sold at mt Etsy shop.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - B04, B02, B01, B000, RV10, RV000, RV0000, E35, E33, E31, E30
Prima Flowers
Glossy Effects
Crystal Stickles
Reflections swirled border
Spellbinders dies
Zutter Distressing tool

And of course I have a close up of my image for you.  I really like to show you what a great job these artists can do with their stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Mo's Digital - Birthday Fairy Lee

Well, my goal for the summer is to begin entering challenges again.  Maybe even add a new challenge or two that I hadn't tried before.  So today's card is one that I am entering into the challenge for Mo's Digital Pencil.  I love Mo's images and wanted to use some of the ones I have purchased already but are sitting in my hard drive.

For today's card I used the image Birthday Fairy Lee.  Mo's challenge for this week is Flowers, Flutters, Fairies or Fancy Fold.  You could choose one or all.  My card has the elements of fairy and flowers.  I also set up my flowers on this card a little different than I normally do, clumping them all tightly in the corner.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - V99, V95, V93, V91, R22, R20, R00, R0000, V01, V000, V0000
Diamond Stickles
Glossy Effects
Glitter Gel pen
Self-Adhesive pearls
Fiskars swirl punch
Martha Stewart large border punch
Prima Flowers
Wild orchid Flowers

Here's a close-up of Mo's fairy.

I am also linking this card to the Color Me Creative Challenge for this week.  The challenge at that site is to color folds, pleats and/or ruffles in your project.

A Tiddly Inks Creation

Good morning, it is Monday here and I am looking forward to having absolutely nowhere to go today!  Well, I do have to get some groceries to feed my family and pick up my daughter, but I don't have anything scheduled that I absolutely have to get to!  Like every summer I do have a lot to do around the house.  Things that I have put off because of lack of time and energy during the school year.  I'm not complaining though, the weather is going to be nice and I am so glad to be home and on vacation.

My card today uses the Tiddly Inks image You and Me Baby.  I used it to make a card for my 7th wedding anniversary.  The sentiment on the card I "borrowed" from Donna, another DT member at Tiddly Inks.  You can click HERE to get to her blog.  I thought the sentiment was just perfect for this card!

Materials Used:
R39, R37,R37, R35, RV10, RV00, RV000, RV0000, E49, E39, E29, E21, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1

Meljen's and Fred She Said

Well, it's EARLY Sunday morning and this is my first free chance to post again.  School is over for the summer and I will hopefully have a few weeks to hang out with the kids, clean and organize around the house and get as much crafting in a possible.  I'm hoping for some warm, sunny days but our weather hasn't been very cooperative lately!

Today I am posting a card and a 3D project using an image from Meljen's Designs and a template from Fred She Said.  The first is a card I made using Melissa's Little Ballerina Image which you can find HERE at Whimsy stamps.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - RV14, RV13, RV10, RV000, RV0000, YR24, YR21, Y23, Y11
Crystal Stickles
Self-Adhesive Pearls
Fiskars swirl punch
Spellbinders dies
SU Pink Pirouette stamp pad
Perfect pearls and water mixture in spray ( I made this myself)

Here is a close up of the ballerina.  I love all things dance and always enjoy getting a chance to use a dancer image and make it into a project!

Here's the project I made using Fred She Said's Paper Roses set.  I made these to give my son's teachers at daycare as an end of the year gift.  Since I am home for the summer he stays home with me and then will return to daycare when I return to work.

Materials used:
Cricut Expressions
Spellbinders dies
clear paint cans (from Michael's)
various ink pads for shading the outside of the flowers and leaves
Self-Adhesive pearls

Here is a picture of what I put inside the can.  I made a  notepad and a pot-it note pad to match the outside decorations.

So glad you stopped by today,

A Tilda Flower Garden

Now that the warm weather has been staying around a little more consistently and summer has officially started our gardens around here are beginning to bloom.  Today starts a new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund and for my card I used Explorer Tilda.  The challenge is to use flock, or some other soft texture in our project so I put Tilda in a garden full of flowers.  Since she is searching around for small creatures, aka bugs, where else to look but a garden.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - B69, B66, B63, B60, Y08, Y04, Y00, Y0000, YG67, YG17, YG25, YG63, YG61, E47, E27, E25, E21
Glossy Effects
Crystal Stickles
Fiskars butterfly and flower punchs
Martha Stewart Flock
Bella's Baubles, white

Here's a close up of this adventurous Tilda.

Explorer Tilda is from the new Magnolia Sweet Rainbow Collection.  Click HERE to find her and other Magnolia's from this collection.  Every new collection is always full of new Tilda's that I feel I just HAVE to buy for my own Magnolia collection of stamps.

Phindy's Place Black and White Challenge

So I can officially say that I have four days until summer vacation.  I am so excited to see summer come but have a lot to accomplish at school over the next four days.  Besides all of the end of the year paper work my classroom needs to be packed up so it can be cleaned and prepared for the first of day of school in fall.  Hmmm, I am going to be very busy the next four days!

With that being said I am so excited that I was able to finish a card for the challenge at Phindy's Place this week. I have had this image printed out for a little while but just haven't had the time to color it or make a project.  I was happy to be able to do so this weekend!  The image I used for my card is called Spring Bouquet.

Materials Used:
Copic markers
Prima Flowers
Self-Adhesive jewels
Crystal Stickles
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Spellbinders dies

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Happy Tilda

Well, it's Saturday, June 18 and the final countdown has begun until the end of school.  Time to get all last minute paperwork done, the classroom cleaned and on Friday it will be final goodbye to my kindergartners who will then be first graders. I'm looking forward to a summer of recharging batteries, finishing up projects around the house and spending more time working on my blog and really getting my Etsy shop up and running.

This last week of school has also meant goodbye to my daughter as a middle school student and hello to my high school Freshman.  It's hard to believe how fast she has grown and how much she has matured over her four years at middle school.  Last night was her moving up ceremony and all of the kids looked wonderful as they sat on the stage!  Tonight we are having a small family dinner for her to celebrate her accomplishment.  The card I made today is to give to her to mark this occasion.  I used a Tilda image who is appropriately named, Happy Tilda.  The sentiment on the card i made in Photoshop and will leave at the bottom as a freebie for you.  I'm trying to refine my technique on making sentiments.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - YG25, YG23, YG21, YG0000, YG17, YG13, YG11, G20, E99, E97, Y21, Y11
Self-Adhesive Black Pearls
Prima Flowers
Copic Airbrush system
Fiskars Swirl punch
Crystal Stickles

Here's a close up of Happy Tilda.  Click HERE to find her and other adorable Magnolia's at 7 Kids College Fund.

Here's the sentiment I made using PhotoShop.

If you have some time you should stop by the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog.  Our current challenge it to make a summer card, but there is a twist.  No Magnolia images are allowed in this challenge.  I do love my Magnolia's but it was good to use some of my other adorable stamps as well.
Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Fred She Said and Mo's Digital Pencil

Well, it has been a long week already and it's only Tuesday!  That's how it goes the last few weeks of school.  So, I'm going to make tonight's post short and if you would like to know more about the materials I used on my card just leave a comment and I would be happy to get back to you.  One thing you can count on is that I used my copic markers to color both projects I have for you tonight.

The first card uses the Mo's Digital Pencil image, i wuv you.  I have been trying to get myself into at least one challenge a week and this is my challenge for this week.  I have a few other's that I really enjoy participating in and hopefully next week and I can enter into at least one of those as well.

This week's challenge at Mo's Challenge blog was to use a recipe.  Here is the recipe to follow,

"A Recipe for Friendship"

Take two people with common interests,
Mix together with love and understanding,
Stir in a sense of humor and a lot of compassion,
Bake for a lifetime...
and enjoy the fruits of your labor knowing that you both have made a remarkable concoction that will last forever!

I chose the criteria of using more than one person in my card.

Isn't this image just adorable.  I did use my copic markers and the sentiment stamp is from SU's set, Circle of Friendship.

Another card I am posting tonight uses a beautiful flower image from the Fred She Said store.  Click HERE to get to her store and find this and many other beautiful images.  The flower image on my card is called Hellebore.

This card is going to part of a set I am giving away as an end of the year gift for someone at my daughter's school.

Well, I'm off to call it a night.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and see my projects.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday

Well, here it is Tuesday, June 14 and the countdown until the end of school is in full swing.  Eight days left to go and then summer vacation, here we come!  The kids and I will just be hanging around the house, enjoying some sun and of course I'll be finding some time to get my crafting in.  What's a summer vacation without the extra time to craft?!  I'm also looking forward to the time to recharge my batteries so I can start all over again in September.

My card for Tiddly Inks uses Christy's image, Awww, Thanks.  This is one of the newer Tiddly Inks images and just oh so much fun to play with!  Now, the challenge for this week I found a little more difficult.  This week we are simplifying our card making and the challenge is to only use one layer.  I know, I know, not the easiest challenge despite the fact that we are actually trying to go simple.  But, to be honest with you, I really love how my card came out, one layer and all!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - G28, G24, G21, G20, B18, B16
Thanks a bunch border
Ribbon

The border on the card I made using Photo Shop.  I will attach the border at the end of this post.  I'm also going to add it to the template section of my blog.

Here's a close up of Christy's Awww Thanks image.

This school year my daughter is leaving the middle school and the eighth grade and entering high school, GULP!  This card is for someone who has been there for her through most of her middle school experience and really helped to make it a positive one.  But, to be honest with you, I am just not old enough to have a high schooler!

Here's the "Thanks a Bunch" border.

I hope you stop by the Tiddly Inks challenge blog and check out all the other DT cards.  They are simply fabulous!  While there, why not take your hand at this challenge, it's bound to be fun!
Thanks so much for stopping by today,

A Happy Day!

Well, it's Saturday, which alone can make me jump for joy, but that isn't why I am so excited.  I have just found out that I am now a senior DT for Meljen's Designs!  Can I tell you that it was only a year ago that I found all these amazing craft blogs and just toyed with the idea of starting one of my own.  And now, here I am a senior DT and loving it!  If you've never ventured by Meljen's Designs you really should take a trip!  It is such an amazing site, with gorgeous images and I just love the gals I work with over there!  I truly feel blessed to be part of the Meljen's family.

Well, if you can't already guess, the card I am posting for today uses one of Meljen's new release images for this week, ballet slippers.  I LOVE dance.  I love everything about it, watching, participating, you name it and I think it's awesome.  So, whenever I get the chance to create with a dance related image, I just do!  The card I am posting today I plan on making into a boxed set for a very special and old friend.  I do love making card sets as gifts for people and I feel that it makes it more special to know that someone made something with your likes and interests in mind.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10, V95, V93, V91, V0000, RV25, RV23, RV21, RV10
Diamond Stickles
SU Pink Pirouette stamp pad
Self-Adhesive pearls
Versa Mark  Dazzle Frost stamp pad

The dance background paper was made using Photoshop on my computer.  I also wanted to add a little sparkle to the paper so I stamped over it with the Versa Mark Dazzle frost stamp pad, which is hard to see in this picture.

Here is a close up of Melissa's ballet slippers.

And, here is a full display of the new release images for this week.

Now, if you're a girly girl, or like your embellishments, the challenge for this week is perfect for you!  If you head over to Meljen's Challenge blog you will see the DT examples of our PINK AND PEARLS challenge.  Remember, if you want to enter the drawing you need to use a Meljen's image and you can find TONS of freebies at the challenge blog as well.  Or, if you want to use one of these new cuties then click HERE to shop for them at Whimsy stamps.
So glad you stopped by my blog today,

A Tiddly Inks Gymnast

Can I tell you how excited I am that the weekend is almost here.  Of course it doesn't mean total rest, there is a lot to do around the house, but it does mean a more flexible schedule and more time to craft.  Maybe I'll even get some time to clean up my craft space, or should we say my craft heaven.  It's not a total disaster but the empty space where I color and put my projects together keeps getting smaller and smaller.

Yesterday was my sister's birthday and I LOVE the card I made for her!  It isn't full of embellishments but it uses some interesting craft techniques.  My sister has been a gymnast since she was 9 years old.  Now that she has three kids she hasn't been able to keep up with it the last few years, but she did well into her adulthood.  I used to love to watch her flip down the mat at every recital that we had.  And let me tell you, that girl could flip!  She was simply amazing!  So for her card this year I decided to use the Tiddly Inks image, Gerogia the Gymnast.  After coloring her in I made an easel card and then made my image into a spinner.  Although you won't be able to see it on my blog the effect is that the gymnast looks like she is doing flips up and down the mat.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - R24, R22, R21, R20, E19, E17, E13, E11
Inkadinkadoo Sentiment Stamp
Self-Adhesive jewels

If you've never made a spinner card before it is actually pretty easy.  I made the track for the spinner by using a 1/2 inch circle punch on each end and then cutting down the middle for the track.  Then, I used 2 pennies on the back of the gymnast for the spinning.  In between the pennies is a pop dot and then I attached the pennies to my image.  The card stock that has the track is also popped out with pop up dots so that there is the space behind it for the card to spin.

Another gift for my sister was a set of cards using a frog image that I drew.  She LOVES frogs and I have been trying my hand at drawing some images myself.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - YG17, G14, YG13, YG11, G29, YG67, YG63, G21, R27, R24, R22, R21
I-Rock embellishments
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Spellbinders Dies
SU Certainly Celery Stamp pad
Frog Charm

Here's what the boxed set of card looked like.  I added some ribbon and a frog charm to spice up the look of the set.

If you're interested in Christy's Georgia the Gymnast image, or any other Tiddly Inks images, then click HERE yo get to her store.  Also, I hope you can take the time to check out the Tiddly Inks Challenge for this week.  The challenge for this week is going Goth, create a fun dark card and let me tell you the design team has done a wonderful job with their samples!
So glad you decided to stop by today,

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - It's Getting Hot, Hot, Hot

Well, it's Wednesday and that means we are halfway through the week.  Thank goodness since we are working on one of those incredibly busy weeks.  Now the extreme warm weather has set in and I am ready for Friday to get here.  I don't want to wish the week away but this has been a crazy one, let me tell you!

This week's challenge at 7 Kids College Fund is to make a summery card BUT there is an extra challenge attached to not use a Magnolia image.  I know, I know, we all love our Magnolia's, but there are so many other wonderful images out there, why not give one of them a try!

Materials Used:
CC Designs Honey Summer stamp
Copic Markers - BV08, BV04, BVF02, BV31,BG09, BG04, BG02, BG000, BV01, BV00, BV000, BV0000
Prima Flowers
Glossy Effects
Unity Jan. 2011 KOM sentiment stamp
Self-adhesive rhinestones
Diamond Stickles

Here's a close-up of this cute image.

This honey stamp is certainly perfect for our extreme hot weather today!  It is going to be 95 degrees with the heat index reaching near 100.  She has the right idea of hanging out in the pool.  If you would like to find her, or other Summer CC Designs stamps, then click HERE to get to the 7 Kids College Fund store.

Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog and this week's challenge and enter your project in our drawing.  And, don't forget to use a stamp carried at 7 Kids College Fund, but not a Magnolia this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by today,
