Magnolia - Soccer Edwin

Hello out there on this wet and muggy Saturday!  We are dripping with humidity up here in the northeast and I am over ready for the cool, fall weather to begin.  The humidity and rain are just miserable and I just can't wait for it to go away!

My card for today uses the Magnolia image, Soccer Edwin.  This stamp comes from the Magnolia Winner Takes All collection and can be found HERE at the 7 kids College Fund store.  Many members of my family are wonderful soccer players so I have had a little exposure to the sport.  I played for many years as a kid but I don't have the natural talent that so many members of my family do.  My son shows some natural ability for kicking the ball so we shall have to see how he does when he is old enough to play!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R22, R20, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
IRock red sparkles embellishments
Martha Stewart large border punch
Sentiment - Pink Cat Studio Sporty Billy Stamps
Spellbinders dies

Here's a close up of Edwin's soccer technique!

And here's the inside of the card.  I added some pattern paper to spice it up a bit.

I hope you can take some time to stop by our challenge blog and enter our current challenge, Holiday Goodness.  You still have a few days to enter.

So glad you decided to stop by today,

Phindy's Place - Opposites on the Color Wheel

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday!  I am ready for the weekend to come as it has been another one of those crazy weeks.  Work, appointments, training's and just life in general is in full swing which means I am just plain exhausted by this time of the week.  I am looking forward to finding some quiet time on the weekend to get my crafting done and clear my mind before the start of another crazy week.

For our challenge this week at Phindy's Place we want you to use colors that are opposite on the color wheel.  The colors I chose were purple and green, which aren't complete opposites, but close enough.  If you're not sure of which colors are opposite I am posting a color wheel below for you to use.  I had to use one for my project to be sure that I was actually using opposite colors.

For my image from Phindy's Place I used Flower Top Fairy Violet.  This fairy just makes me think of peace and tranquility and you can find her HERE at the Phindy's Place store.  I wanted the shape of my card to be a little different so I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the shape of my card.

Materials used:
Copic Markers
Prima Flowers
Diamond Stickles
Cricut Expression
Self-Adhesive Rhinestones

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I hope you can take the time to stop by our challenge blog to check out all the other wonderful cards made by our fabulous DT and to enter this week's challenge.  Remember, if you use a Phindy image you get a chance at a second entry for the prize at the end of the challenge.
So glad you decided to stop by today!

Phindy's Place - Christmas is Creeping Up on Us

Good morning on this wonderful Friday.  Why is it wonderful, because it is Friday of course! Today at the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog we are looking for your Christmas themed cards. We all know how we think about making our cards, create a theme and then before you know it are rushing to finish because we are running out of time.  So, let's get started early! Let's see what you have in store for Christmas this year and then link it up to our challenge. Don't forget, if you use a Phindy's Place image you get to link up twice for an extra chance to win!

For my project I used the Phindy's Place image, Surprise.  This little girl makes me think of my own childhood when I would be digging through my stocking to see what Santa had brought.  My own daughter did the same thing so I had a lot of fun using this image.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - R14, R12, R01, R000, R27, R24, R22, R20, G28, g17, G14, G12
Prima flowers
Wild Orchid flowers
Self-adhesive flourished rhinestones
Spellbinders dies

Here's a close up of this really cute Phindy image!

So don't forget to stop to drop the challenge blog and leave some love for the other DT members.  They have worked hard to give you some really great inspiration for this week's challenge!  If you're interested in this image from Phindy, or seeing other great Phindy images, then click HERE to get to her store.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday

Happy Tiddly Tuesday to all you fellow crafters out there.  Today we are starting a fun new challenge at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.  Our challenge for this week is to make an Art Journal.  Now, I have to admit that this was a hard one for me.  Art Journals use so many mediums and can be so free with patterns and lines I always have a difficult time knowing where to begin or what to do.  After some help from my fellow Tiddly Inkers I was finally able to come up with my project and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Just a note about our current challenge, it will run for 2 WEEKS!  Yeah, that's right, 2 weeks!  So, you have some extra time to put that art journal together.

For my project I used the Tiddly Inks image, Little Artist.  To find this image you can click HERE to get to the Tiddly Inks store.  The background paper for my project is handmade by my husband's Aunt.  She has a passion for paper like I do and often sends me the most fabulous papers for Christmas.  The inside paper edges are ripped to give the journal that artsy unfinished look.  I also made a mixture of Alcohol Ink, blender and perfect pearls to spritz on the inside of each page.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Viva Decor Perfect Pearls Pen
Viva Decor Glitter liner
Cinch Binding system
Handmade paper
Various crafting fibers

Here's a close up of Christy's Little Artist.

If you're unsure of how to begin like I was then hop on over to the challenge blog to see the other great DT products to use for inspiration.  They are just FAB-U-LOUS!

Sweetie Tilda

Good morning on this beautiful Saturday!  I woke up to sunshine, ok, not really sunshine since I was up at 4:30am, and a nice crisp feeling to the air.  The sun IS shining now though and I think it is just going to be a super, spectacular day!  I would have liked to sleep in a little more after a very exhausting first week of school but, I guess you just can't have it all!

Today I am posting a center step card using two Magnolia images.  These images are from the Sweet Rainbow collection and are Sweetie Tilda and Brick Wall.  You can find a direct link to them HERE at the 7 Kid College Fund store.  Another product I used in my card, which I have been using a lot of in my last few projects, is My Minds Eye, Stella Rose patterned paper. I really like the patterns for this paper, which you can find a direct link for by clicking HERE.  I usually don't purchase 6x6 paper because I am afraid of not having enough for my cards but this paper was so perfect for my fall cards.  The colors are just fabulous and the patterns are simply beautiful!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - Y38, Y35, Y32, TR30, R59, E09, E08, E11, E02
Prima Flowers
Self-Adhesive pearls
Martha Stewart border punch
SU Marigold Morning stamp pad
MME Stella Rose patterned paper
Spellbinders dies
Diamond stickles

Here is a close up of my image.

I hope you have some time to stop by our challenge blog and play along with the challenge for this week.  You still have a few days to enter and this week's challenge is to make an easel card!  I think this is a wonderful challenge since the rest of the style of the card is completely up to you!

Stripes Somewhere

Good morning everyone!  I am currently heading out to my 3rd day of school with students and I have school on the brain!  The first week is always a whirlwind and so exhausting.  Once the kids get a little more in the routine it all settles down and we all adjust to our busy week!

Today at the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog we have a new challenge for you!  This week we want you to use stripes somewhere in your project.  For my project I used the Phindy's image, Kitty Cargo. This image reminds me of my son who LOVES his trucks and cars and is always playing with our cats!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Glossy Effects
Buttons
Colored Twine
Spellbinders Dies

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I hope you can take the time to stop by the challenge blog and check out all the other amazing DT cards and enter our challenge for this week, you won't be sorry that you did!
