Phindy's Place Friday - Ribbon

Good morning, TGIF!  I am so excited it's Friday let me tell you!  It has been a long, drawn out week and yesterday was just the never ending day, as Thursday's usually are in our house!  BUT, I got something exciting yesterday.  I have just ordered a Black Cat Cougar die cut machine and it arrived yesterday, WOOHOO!  Did I open it right away, no!  Why?  Well, I was afraid if I opened it nothing else was going to be happening for me.  I am desperate to play with it and learn it so I plan on making some time this weekend to get started, whether I actually have the time or not!

I really am desperate to get started using it.  I mean, who needs to work anyway?  As if!  Wouldn't if be great if we could feed our families from our love our craft alone.  If we could my family would never go hungry again, NEVER!  But then again, I do love to teach, I just wish I had more time to be at home to create and play.  Oh well, in a perfect world.........

Today we are starting a new challenge at Phindy's Place.  This week we want you to use ribbon on your project.  I have such a stash of ribbon but often have such a hard time fitting it into my projects.  Today I had the perfect color ribbon to go with my Phindy's image, Flower Top Fairy, Daffodil.  I love these flower fairies that Phindy has created.

Materials I Used for this Project:
Copic Markers - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y08, Y04, Y00, Y0000
Spellbinder's Oval dies
Spellbinder's Scalloped Oval dies
Diamond Stickles
MS Rose leaf punch
Fiskars Small Butterfly punch

Here's a close up of my colored fairy.

I am also entering this card into the challenge at the Sweet Stop Challenge Blog.  Here is there sketch for this week.

I flipped the sketch to be vertical instead of horizontal, but I have otherwise followed what you see here.

Now it's your turn.  Stop by Phindy's Place and enter your creation into this weeks challenge.  You don't have to use a Phindy's image to enter but we sure love when you do.  Also, you get a second entry into the random drawing when you use one of Phindy's images.  Still thinking you need some inspiration?  Well, Phindy's other DT members have created some stellar projects for just that reason.

Wishing you a fabulous Friday!
Glad you were able to stop by,

7 Kids College Fund Wednesday -

Hello and Happy Wednesday to all of you!  We've made it through half the week and before we know it the weekend will be here.  Our beautiful warm and sunny weather from last week has disappeared and we are back to brisk, windy March weather.  The weather vacation was nice but now it's back to reality for all of us in the NorthEast.

Last week's weather was really just the most perfect of inspirations for our new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund.  This time around we are looking for your spring inspired projects.  Our challenge is called "Shades of Spring" and with all the trees and flowers in bloom I was in the perfect mood to create a spring inspired project.  Of course, let's hope that our short week of warmth and spring growth doesn't get damaged by our now much cooler weather.  That would just be terrible and I don't think anyone needs anymore bad weather issues affecting their lives and livelihood.

For my project I used 2 Magnolia images, Beautiful Tilda and Edwin with Butterfly.  I love butterflies and these two images are among my Magnolia favorites.  I decided to make a tri-fold card to add a little more dimension to my project and for even more dimension added a window to the front flap.

Materials I Used on this Project:
Copic Markers - YG25, YG23, YG21, CB, RV25, RV23, RV10. B26, B24, B21
Pearls flourished border
Recollections Glitter Embellishments

Here's a close up of these two Magnolia cuties.

Now it's your turn, we can't wait to see what you create!  Stop by the challenge blog, get inspired by our fabulous DT and then it's your turn to enter our challenge!

Hoping you are having the most happiest of Wednesdays!
So glad you could take the time to drop by,

Good morning everyone?  How are you all doing on this Tuesday morning?  We have such a fabulous challenge this week for you at Tiddly Inks!  It's almost Christy's birthday and we are celebrating this week with a birthday challenge.  Just in case you don't know, Christy is the owner and fabulous creator of the Tiddly Inks images.  She is just such a wonderful person, and let's face it an amazing artist, so what better way to celebrate her birthday then with a new challenge!  AND, birthday cards can use such a variety of images you're sure to find one at Tiddly Inks that you like.

For my project this week I created a birthday card using one of the new images, Wryn with a Cherry on Top.  Now, I was in the mood to be a little more daring and creative so I also added a few extra cupcakes to my image in PhotoShop.  I LOVE PhotoShop, and I still don't even know how to use half of the functions in this program.  The cupcakes I added are also from the Tiddly Inks store and are from the Happy Bugg and Extras set.

Materials I Used on this Project:
Copic Markers - R14, R21, R12, R00, RV23, RV21, RV10, RV00, E55, E53, E51, E50, E29, E25, E35, E33

Saturated Canary & My Voice

So, I have been posting to my blog for almost 2 years now and I have grown so much since I started sharing my projects and thoughts with you.  I have gone from entering challenges and just sharing my own personal creations to becoming a member of several design teams.  I never thought I would be capable of expressing myself in a such an open forum.  When we are talking outside the box we are talking WAY outside the box!  I have to say that I am happy about this.  I am a person who likes to grow and expand myself whenever possible.  BUT, something is still missing.  I can feel it every time I hit the publish button at the end of a post.  I've known for awhile what it is but I just haven't quite figured out how to overcome the last hurdle in my blog journey.

What's missing, my voice.  No, not my ACTUAL voice but that voice that every writer, or person really, has when they express themselves.  I'm such a reserved person and this definitely comes through when I write on blog.  I share a little, post my project and then move on.  To be honest, it's how I interact with others in general.  I don't want to be judged for my thoughts or actions and the World Wide Web is kind of a large forum to express yourself, you know.

You're probably wondering why I am droning on and on about all of this.  Well, it's time I start using my blog as a true expression of myself.  I mean really, it is my blog.  It's about me, my projects, my ideas and basically whatever I want it to be.  Now, I most likely won't be sharing too many family photos.  I am fiercely protective of my children and I am uncomfortable exposing them to such a large audience at the ages they are.  But, as for the rest of me, it's time to be exposed (metaphorically, of course).  It's time to let my true self shine through, I have worked really hard on my projects, on my blog and my creativity in general so I should allow myself to enjoy the end results, right!

Okay, now that I have gotten that off my chest it's time to share with you my project for today.  It's a card I made using the Saturated Canary image, Duck, Duck, Goose.  It's such an adorable spring image I used bright spring colors on it.  I am entering my project into the current challenge over at the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog, which is to use twine on your project.

Materials I Used on this Project:
Copic Markers - RV25, RV23, RV10, CB, Y08, Y04, Y00, E35, E34, E30
Spellbinder's Floral Flourish dies
Spellbinder's Nestabilities Circle and Scalloped Circle dies
Big Shot
Glossy Accents
Crystal Stickles

Here's a close up of this colored duo.

Well, if you took the time to read my ENTIRE post, thanks you so much for doing so.  I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read my thoughts.
Wishing you all the best of days!
So happy you could drop by,

Phindy's Place Friday - Animal Planet

Good morning everyone, TGIF!  Hooray for Friday!  It hasn't been a bad week here, but a busy one.  Yesterday I had to take my daughter to have a little oral surgery.  Although she was sore and uncomfortable afterwards, she took it like a trooper!  I would have been a basket case if I had this done at 15.  I'm sure I would have been balling all the way in, during, and on the way out.  That girl has a strength I never had until I became an adult!

Since it is Friday we are starting a new challenge over at Phindy's Place.  This week our challenge is "Animal Planet".  We want you to feature an animal somewhere on your card or project.  Phindy has some many great choices in images for this one I had a difficult time choosing my favorite.  In the end I chose the image, Favorite Cuddle.  This is such a cute one and so perfect for Easter, which is coming up quickly.

Materials I used for this Project:
Copic Markers - YG03, YG01, YG00, YG0000, Yr04, YR01, YR00, YR0000, E35, E33, E53, E51
MS Large Border punch
MS Frond Punch

Kraftin' Kimmie - Seraphina

Good morning everyone, how are you doing on this absolutely gorgeous Wednesday?  I can't believe this amazingly warm weather we are having here in the NorthEast, and really over many parts of the country.  Spring fever has hit and it feels more like mid-May instead of mid-March.  I really have to wonder how long this warm weather will stay around and what we are in store for this summer with all the above average temperatures we have had so far this year.

Today I am posting a card using the Kraftin' Kimmie image, Seraphina.  I haven't posted a card using a Kraftin' Kimmie image in a while but I do love them.  In fact, I really like some of the new release images for March and I just may need to find a way to get a few of those.

Materials I Used for this Project:
Copic Markers - YG03, YG01, YG00, CB, Y02, Y00, Y0000
Making Memories mixed media embellishment
EK Success large border punch
Craft Smart sentiment stamp
MS lace butterfly

Here's a close up of my colored angel.

I have to tell you that one of my favorite parts of the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps is the eyes.  I just love images that have those big, adorable eyes.  They get me every time!

Tiddly Inks Tuesday

Hi everyone!  This isn't my normal Tiddly Inks post as I'm posting in the evening instead of the morning, but I am a creature of habit so here I am with a card using on of Christy's wonderful Tiddly Inks images.  I can manage my time so much better when I'm able to keep myself on a fairly routine schedule.  I can handle change, but my memory can't.  Things just start flying loose when I try to move items and activities around.  Sooooo, that's why I'm posting a new Tiddly Inks creation today even though we still have another week left of our current challenge.   If you haven't stopped by this week yet now would be the perfect time.  Our challenge for this week is about Best Friends and Christy has plenty of images you can use for this one.

Today I am posting a card using the Tiddly Inks image, Baby Girl.  This one is the perfect baby Shower card, which is just what I needed.

Materials I Used for this Project:
Copic Markers -  R02, R00, R000, CB, G02, G00, G0000, Y02, Y00, Y0000, CB
Spellbinder's Floral Flourishes
Big Shot
Cricut Expression

7 Kids College Fund Wednesday

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are finding some happiness in this wonderful day!  After two days of gorgeous weather I am living life on the positive side.  It's hard to believe that it's still winter, but right now it just doesn't matter what time of year it is, I am going to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of our weather.  What more can a girl ask for!

Today we are starting a new challenge over at 7 Kids College Fund.  I think you'll like this week's challenge as it is "Anything Goes".  You can create whatever project you like as long as you use a product carried in the 7 Kids College Fund store.  There really is such a large variety of projects to choose from the possibilities are almost limitless.

For my project this week I decided to make a cute framed picture using the Magnolia image, Ballerina Tilda.  I LOVE dance images, just love them.  And, of course I love my Magnolia's so this image was just perfect for me to use!  I added one of my new favorite sayings to the picture and I had my project.

Materials I used for this project:
Copic Markers - RV14, RV13, RV10, RV000

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Best Friends

Good morning everyone and Happy Tuesday to all of you!  How are you doing on this glorious Tuesday?  This week at Tiddly Inks we have a new challenge and it is all about friendship!  We are making our projects this week for a best friend!  I'm sure we all have someone in our life that fits that description.  Friendship can be such amazing blessing in our life so what better way to celebrate this special relationship than to make a card to share!

For my project I used the Tiddly Inks image, Donna's adventure.  I like these Donna characters for two reasons.  First, well they are a Tiddly Inks image and I just LOVE Christy's images.  The second is that my mom's name is Donna and so coloring these often makes me think about her.

Now, you know how sometimes you start a project and then it ends up a little different than you thought.  Well, that's what happened with this one.  I used so many bright, primary colors on this image that I used many bright, primary colors on my card. Well, now I'm thinking it may be a little much!  You know how it goes!  It is a nice cheerful card though so hopefully just great for a best friend.

Materials I used on this project:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R22, R21, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, G28, G17, G05, G02
SU friendship sentiment
Spellbinder's Label dies
MS frond punch
MS large border punch

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Now it's your turn.  Stop on by the challenge blog and enter your friendship card with your Tiddly Inks image into our challenge.  While there don't forget to check out all the other spectacular DT cards, you'll be glad that you did!

Saturated Canary - Haley and Harley

Good evening everyone!  We are enjoying the extra daylight time here in the northeast U.S. as we have "sprung" our clocks ahead for daylight savings time this weekend.  It's always nice to have the extra daylight but OH SO miserable to lose that extra hour of sleep.  Problem is I never seem to feel the loss right away, it takes a day or two before this body of mine realizes I am drop dead tired and I need to rest a little extra.  After about a week, OR two the body finally starts to adjust to the new routine.

Today I used that extra daylight to catch up on my projects and I was able to make a card for the current Saturated Canary challenge.  The current challenge is to use a doily on your project.  This may seem a little strange but I am not big on doilies.  I never know quite how to use a doily in  my project and I must confess I can NEVER find where to buy them at the store!  Really, Never!  This time isn't any different either, I just happen to be lucky enough to have a small pile of doilies my mother-in-law sent to me.  So, thanks to her, I can enter the challenge this week.

For my project I used the Saturated Canary image, Haley and Harley.  Funny thing is that when I finished coloring the image I felt like Harley was the image of me when I was young.  I colored her hair a dark blond, which was my color as a child, I used to dance and pigs were my absolute favorite when I was young.  If I had given her blue eyes it really could have been the spitting image of a younger me!

Materials used to make this card:
Copic Markers
MS large border punch
MS Frond Punch
Spellbinder's Foliage die
Spellbinder's Labels die
Fiskars Butterfly Punch
Glossy Accents
Crystal Stickles
Susanaments sentiment stamp
Broken China Distress Ink stamp

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Phindy's Place Friday - Monochromatic Green

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday!  Hooray to all of us for making it through the work week!  The weekend is just around the corner and then most of us will have 2 days to catch up around the house and hopefully find some time to craft, craft, craft!  We are coming off two gloriously beautiful days and spring fever has sprung!  I could not believe the number of robins on my front lawn yesterday and seeing them made we want spring to come even more!

Today at Phindy's Place our challenge is to make a monochromatic green card.  What a fun color to use to make a card this month since St. Patrick's Day is almost here!  Phindy has so many cute images that would work well with this theme and so for my project I chose the Phindy image, Special Luck.

Materials I used to Make this Project:
Copic Markers - C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, G28, G17, G05, G02
MS small butterfly punch
Prima flowers
Fiskars Small flower punch
EK Success foliage Punch
Spellbinder's oval and Scalloped oval dies

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I've made my card following the sketch at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge blog.  I'm entering my card in their challenge this week!

Here's the sketch from The Sweet Sketch Wednesday Blog.
