Phindy's Place Friday - Initials

Good morning my crafty friends, TGIF!  What a gorgeous, although hot, week we have here this week in the North East U.S.  The kids and I have spent quite some time outside, especially in the pool, and my little guy is getting less and less fearful every time we go in.  Don't get me wrong, that boy LOVES the water, but he is a little intimidated by the amount of water in the pool.  Yesterday he held onto the side by himself(with his life jacket on of course and me standing very close by) and giggled and smiled the entire time he was doing it.  He was even more at ease in his smaller pool, which again is still much more water than he gets in the bathtub, and spent a lot of time playing "little fishy" and swimming around.  The smile on his face is priceless and I just love watching him have so much fun.  Now we had gotten my daughter to come out the last few days but her computer was calling her name much too loudly yesterday and she kept herself indoors.  Oh my, the hard life of a teenager.

Today at Phindy's Place we are starting a new challenge and our challenge this time around is an INITIALS challenge.  Use something on your project that uses your initials and then enter it into our challenge.  Now we all interpreted this differently, and of course so can you.  Some of us used our initials pertaining to the embellishments used, some the image and for myself I used the words M-MOTHER and P-PRECIOUS, both pertaining to my image.  As long as your project can be tied into your initials, then it will fit!  We are also changeing our challenges up a little bit starting this month.  Instead of having a challenge every week we are now going to be hosting our challenges every two weeks, which gives you extra time to finish a project to enter.

The Phindy's Place image I used on my card is called Contentment and it is obvious why it was given this name.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Copic Airbrush system
MS Double border punch
Spellbinder's dies
EK Success Foliage Punch
Rhinestones

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I'm entering my card in the challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Here is the sketch I followed when making my card.

Now it's your turn!  Create a project inspired by your initials and then link it up to our challenge.  Remember, now you have 2 weeks to enter!  Don't forget to get a little inspiration from the projects the fabulous design team created!
So glad you stopped by today,

  1. Marlena, this is just beautiful! This was the first Phindy image I bought and continues to be one of my favorites. Your coloring is outstanding as usual. Love the flower and all the bling, too. Simply perfect! Glad you are having a great summer and your little guy is enjoying the pool!

  2. Hi Marlena, your card is just lovely. I just love your colour combo and I agree with Kathy your colouring is outstanding. I love your wonderful flowers just perfect finishing touch to your card. You made me laugh about your son, it sounds like my youngest he loved the water but hated getting his face in the water now he's a competitive swimmer so is his older brother who is a complete water baby turning 13 soon and adores the pool. Great card and thanks for joining us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and good luck.

Love the closeup shot you provided - helps me learn your tricks to coloring! Your story reminds me of when my son first learned to swim - he's now on the varsity swim team at the HS. Time just flies.
