Saturated Canary - Springtime

Hello my crafty friends, how is your Monday treating you?  I have officially gone back to work teaching a two week summer school program for incoming kindergartners.  It is a half day program, going Monday -Thursday, to help kids adjust to coming to our larger school.  AND, since my son is at daycare I am spending the afternoon getting down to the nitty gritty of putting my classroom back in order for the first day of school, which is just around the corner I'm afraid.  He had a good first day back as well, although it was hard for him to leave mommy this morning.  Thankfully he has some really great kids at daycare that he loves to play with and the staff is just wonderful there, so he was fine after just a few minutes.

Today I am posting a card that I made for the current challenge at Saturated Canary, The Great Outdoors.  For my project I used the Saturated Canary image, Springtime.  Now, I LOVE making my cards but need a break from them every now and then.  I like a little variety, so for today's project I made a gift box using this image.  It isn't for any specific occasion, just needed to make a 3D project, and so I did.

Once upon a time I was not a fan of yellow, But I find that the more I work on my projects the more yellow just keeps popping in, especially in the spring and summer months.  I guess the color is growing on me!

Here's a little different view of the box.  I always have such a hard time deciding how it is best to photograph a 3D project.  There is so much more I think you need to see when looking at a 2D photo of a 3D project, so I tend to take a few more photos with several different angles.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Wild Orchid Flowers
Spellbinder's Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
MS Butterfly Punch
SU Scalloped border Punch
Glossy Accents

Here's a closer look at how I colored the image.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!
