The Sweet Stop

Good morning everyone, Happy, Happy Saturday!  Can you believe the year is almost over?  A few more days and we will be ringing in 2013 with all new hopes and promises to try and keep.  I am not one for New Year's Resolutions, why make a promise that you know you can never keep?  But I do have a wish for the New Year, and that's a little more love and respect shared with everyone.  It seems to me that if we all just showed a little more kindness toward the person standing next to us, regardless of our personal opinions, we could start working together to end some of the senseless violence and meanness that our children have to see in the news every single day.  Forget seeing it in the news, these are things they are living in a very real way. I want my children to grow up with a chance at a better future and that begins with all of us that working together to make it happen.  Love, respect, kindness, these are all free.  They don't cost too much or take up a lot of extra time and quite frankly, it's just as simple as it sounds.  Well, it's my hope for the new year anyway and I am sure going to give it a try.

Today we have a new sketch for you to play along with at The Sweet Stop.  Thank goodness for my holiday vacation to help me catch up on my crafty projects after the craziness of the Christmas season.  For my project today I used an image from Saturated Canary, Zella.

Here's the sketch we had to start with.

AND, here's the card I made following along with this sketch.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Crystal Stickles
Spellbinder's dies
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Snowflake border punch
IRock crystal embellishments
MS Snowflake Punch
Glossy Accents

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

I hope you have some time to play along.  It's always fun seeing all the different projects that are created from one sketch.  You can find some more inspiration by checking out the fabulous projects created by the rest of the Sugar Babies.  Just stop by the challenge blog to check them out, you'll be glad that you did!
Thanks so much for stopping by today,
