Tiddly Inks - Wryn - Some Bunny Loves You

Hello everyone on this Wednesday evening.  The kids and I are waiting for hubby to come home from work and my son and I are watching Mater's Tall Tales.  If you've never seen these Pixar shorts before they are really cute stories about absolutely outrageous things that Tow Mater does, like towing a car all the way from the moon to earth!  Yes, I know more about these movies than I should but my son is a Cars "enthusiast" and we watch everything involving Cars more times than I thought humanly possible.  Lol!  Anyway, if your son is like mine and you find these they are really cute and pretty funny, the first time!

For my project today I am posting a card using one of the new Wryn images from Christy at Tiddly Inks!  I love all of Christy's images but these Wryn's are pretty darn cute!  The Wryn I'm using is called Wryn, Somebunny Loves You.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Dies
Big Shot
Pearls
EK Success large border punch
MS Frond Punch
SU Bashful Blue Stamp pad

Here's a close-up of Wryn and her bunny friends.

Don't forget we are now running 2 week challenges over at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog.  You still have time to enter our current color challenge.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Stitching

Good morning everyone!  I am posting quick this morning as I am off to get ready for work BUT I really wanted to get my card for Mo's challenge posted today before the deadline.  I used the Mo's image, Winter Fairy Halla, which I fell in love with when one of Mo's design team members posted a project with this cutie on Facebook.  She actually used both of Mo's Winter Fairies, and yes, now I have both! LOL!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - B26, B24, B21, Colorless Blender, C3, C1, E11, E01, E000, E0000
Flowers
MS Frond Punch
MS large border punch
Spellbinder's Dies
Big Shot

The challenge was to use stitching on your project.  I used Faux stitching, I just couldn't get to the sewing machine this time.

Here's  a close up of my colored image.

Okay, I am off to work.  Hoping you all have a good one and glad you were able to stop by!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Magnolia - Ice Tila

Hello everyone on this Sunday evening.  I had a productive craft day and wanted to post one last card before I called it a night for the weekend.  I was a little under the weather today with one of those annoying headaches.  This is sometimes good crafting time for me because I don't feel like doing anything else and my crafts, especially coloring, often relax me.

Today I tried to color my image using a distressed look.  This was one of the lessons in the Color Me Creative class 3.  I am just finally getting around to trying it.  It's not too bad for my first time trying this but of course, like all new things, I need a little practice.

For my project I used the Magnolia image, Ice Tilda which is from the Sweet Christmas Dreams collection.

I gave my entire card a distressed look.  I was happy to use my Zutter distressing tool to help achieve this look.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers- R22, R21, R20, B97, B95, B91, E13, E11, E01, E000, W3, W1, Colorless Blender
Spellbinder's dies
Big Shot
Cricut Expression
MS Scalloped border punch
Flowers
Pearls
MS Frond Punch
Zutter Diztress it all
Tea Dye Distress Ink

Here's a close up of the colored image.

Meljen's Designs - Little Art Mouse

Good morning everyone on this early Sunday morning.  Today I am posting a card I made using the Meljen's Designs image, Little Art Mouse.  Since this mouse is drawing the cutest little heart I decided to make this into a Valentine's Day card, which of course is just around the corner.  But then again, the retail stores have been selling Valentine's Day items since before Christmas.  Personally, I can't even begin to think about another holiday until Christmas is over!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R21, R20, C5, C3, C1, C0, E37, E35, E33, E31
MS large border heart punch
Spellbinder's dies
Flowers
EK Success Foliage punch
SU mini tag punch
Fiskars corner swirls punch
Pearls
Glossy Effects

I did try and go a little out of the box with this one.  It is not typical for me to have two hearts randomly sticking off the corner of my card, or to add the little mini punch.  I'm still not sure of my thoughts on the results but a girl has to start somewhere.

Here's a close up of my colored mouse.

Phindy's Place Friday - A Shape Card

Good morning everyone!  Can I tell you how glad I am that it is Friday?  Of course I'm glad it's Friday because I love our new Phindy's Place challenges, but what a long week this has been.  Worse yet, I didn't even have to work this Monday!  Why do short work weeks always seem so much longer than a regular length work week?  This is a concept I will never understand!  LOL!

This week at Phindy's Place our challenge is to make a shaped card.  Any shape EXCEPT a square or a rectangle.  I personally love variety, especially when I feel like I've been creating the same thing over and over again.  So, if you are like me and get inspired by a new challenge, then this is the one for you.

For my project I used the Phindy's Place image, Let's Play.  This boy and his dog are bundled up for the cold and ready to brave the snow!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - B39, B37, B34, B32, R27,R24, R22, R21, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, B05, B02, B00, B0000
Flowers
Flourish Punch
MS Frond Punch
Cricut Expression
Spellbinders dies
Big Shot
SU Bashful Blue stamp pad
Crystal Stickles

Here's a close up of this colored duo.

I hope you are inspired to make your own shape card!  For some more inspiration stop buy the blog and see the other great projects by the rest of the Phindy's Place Design Team!

7 Kids College Fund - Love is in the Air

Good morning again for the third morning in a row this week!  This is an all time record for me.  Hmmm, maybe I can get a post in every day this week!  Wouldn't that be so fabulous!  Oh, that would mean that I had a lot of crafting time this week.  How can a girl complain about that!

Well, since it is Wednesday it means that we are starting a new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund.  Our theme for this week is "Love is in the Air".  But, we also have a little twist to our project this week.  We want you to make a love or Valentine themed card, but in a 3x3 inch square size.  What a fun size card to make using such a fun theme.  Not sure what to do, hop on over to our challenge blog.  Our DT members came up with some really amazing projects for this week's theme.

For my project I used the Bildmalarna stamp, My Flower.  This stamp is from the Bildmalarna Little Winged Friends collection.  I have so many Magnolia and Kraftin' Kimmie stamps I am trying to branch out with my rubber stamp collection and this stamp was such a cutie.  I just had to have her.

My favorite part about making this card is that I was able to find envelopes to fit this size card at the 7 Kids College Fund store.  I love making my cards and 3D projects but when it comes to envelopes I just want to go and get ones that fit my card.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - RV10, RV000, RV0000, colorless blender, E21, E000, E0000, E53, E51, E50
Ribbon
Pearls
MS large border punch
Crystal Stickles

This is the first time I have tried a water colored look with my copic markers, and I just love it!  The secret, using the colorless blender as the lightest shade when coloring.

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Hope you can play along with our current challenge!

Mo's Digital Pencil - Clean and Simple

Hello everyone!  I hope you're enjoying this Tuesday evening.  Tonight is going to be a quick post for me.  It is way past my bedtime but I really wanted to get my card entered into this week's Mo's challenge.  I like entering Mo's challenge but time isn't always on my side.  This week the challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card, easy enough. But also, now Mo is offering more digi's for that one random winner with the more entries in the challenge.  Can't go wrong with that one either.

So for my project I used the Mo's Digital Pencil image, Angel with Kitten.  This is just such a cute one and I am still trying to play around using lighter colors and a water color look with my copic markers.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - E53, E51, E50, YR21, Y23, Y11, E21, E000, E000, Colorless Blender
MS large border punch
Verve Beautiful You sentiment stamp
Pearls

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - A Color Challenge

Good morning everyone, how is your Tuesday shaping up so far?  I'm happy because it is my first day back to work after a long weekend and that means a 4 day work week!  I think that is a great way to start the week!  Yesterday was a nice, relaxing, crafty day and I caught up and actually went ahead on many of this week's projects!  Yay!  That hardly ever happens.

Today starts our second challenge of 2012 over at Tiddly Inks!  2012 brought a few changes to our challenge blog, including the length of our challenges.  The challenges will now be running for two weeks instead of one.  Yeah, more time to get your card completed and entered into our challenge each time!

This week we are hosting a color challenge.  We would like yo to use the colors GREEN, YELLOW, ORANGE and BLUE in your projects.  I'll admit, when I first saw this color challenge I could not figure out how in the world I would put these colors together.  BUT, I actually did do it and I love the way the card turned out.

For my card I used the Tiddly Inks image, Happy Birthday Girl.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - I used the color families Y, YG, YR and B.
Flowers
Spellbinders dies
Big Shot
Rhinestones
Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Crystal Stickles

Here's a close up of my colored image.

So, now that you've seen that these colors really do work well together why not give this week's challenge a try!  Hope to see your project there!

Saturated Canary - Clean and Simple

Good morning, again!  Here's my second post for the day and another Saturated Canary post at that.  This time I am posting a card for the current challenge at Saturated Canary, Clean and Simple.  I do love clean and simple cards but after making cards with so many embellishments for so long they always look so plain to me.  Truth is, some of the simplest cards are often the most beautiful or most elegant.  Simple beauty is definitely to my liking, although a little bling every now and then can't hurt.

For my entry I used the Saturated Canary image, Valentine.  This "love" holiday is just around the corner so I thought I'd start making my Valentine card supply.  I hope to post a few on my Etsy site this week.  I have a long list of cards I need to post there.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21, RV10, RV000, B39, B37, B34, B32, R27, R24, R22, R21, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
MS large heart border punch
Spellbinders dies
Big Shot
I-Rock embellishments

Being an Individual

Good morning on this very cold Monday!  Many of us have the day off today to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.  It seems like the perfect day to post one of my recent cards.  This card uses the image from Saturated Canary, Gothica.  When I started coloring this image my daughter immediately came to mind and she became my inspiration for the colors I used.  Now, my daughter doesn't dress in baggy clothes, she's more the skinny jeans kind of girl, BUT she does dress in multiple layers and usually not one of them matches the other.  In fact, when she goes out of the house in what her parents would call "average" clothes, it is quite shocking.

You'll also notice that this red headed (YUP! my daughter has red hair, strawberry blond really) girl has a few streaks of blue in her hair.  Um, yeah, we've had those in our house as well.  How did she do this you ask, well she used the internet for the idea and then she used conditioner and my blue food coloring.  Needless to say the next time I went to use food coloring, it was all gone!

So, this is where the title from today's post comes from.  As much as I would LOVE for my daughter to wear more "average" clothes and keep her gorgeously colored red hair all one color, I am absolutely in LOVE with the fact that my daughter is secure enough in herself to be an individual and dress the way she wants to dress!  The one thing I will always know about my daughter is she is very strong in her individuality and not always a follower of the crowd.  You'll notice I said not always, well she IS a teenager you know.  I can't ask for it all!

So, before I FINALLY get to my project I just wanted to let you know that I am submitting this card for the Guest DT call for the Saturated Canary challenge blog.  If you've never been before, you really should go take a look.  It's a super fabulous blog with some absolutely gorgeous images!

I'm also entering this card in the CMC Challenge Group challenge for this week.

See, bright, bold contrasting colors, that's my girl.  And, if you get close enough to notice you will see that this gal has her eyes colored a very pale blue.  Again, inspired by my daughter.  She has the most beautiful crystal clear blue eyes ever!  No bias on my part, really!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers - too many colors to list!
Flowers
Spellbinders dies
MS Frond Punch
Fiskars corner flourish punch
Black rhinestones
SU Pixie Pink stamp pad

Here's a closer look at this eclectic cutie!

Kraftin' Kimmie - The Krafty Stamper

Good evening everyone!  Can I tell you it is downright cold here!  Brrr!  Winter has finally arrived, a few months late, and our bodies are not used to this cold.  Being cooped up in the house right now sounds like a fabulous plan!  Glad I have plenty of craft supplies to keep me busy!

Today I am posting a project using the Kraftin' Kimmie image, The Krafty Stamper.  I have had this one for awhile and just couldn't quite figure out what kind of project I wanted to use it for.  Well, I've decided to "spruce" up my craft space a little and really make it mine.  SO, I decided to use this fabby stamp for my sign.  It now hangs right by the light for my craft room space!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Rhinestones
Flowers
SU Pixie Pink Stamp pad
Glossy Effects
Cricut Expression
Spellbinders dies
Big Shot

Here's a close up my colored stamper.

And, here's the permanent home of my sign.
