Little Miss Muffet - Rainbows, Clouds or Wings

Good morning my crafty friends!  I hope you are having a good start to your Thursday and are looking forward to the upcoming weekend!  This week we had Monday and Tuesday off from school and the great thing about starting the work week on a Wednesday is that the weekend is almost here!  Hooray!  This week is flying by and, you may have heard me mention this a few times already, the countdown to summer vacation has begun.  Don't get me wrong, I love teaching!  This time of year the weather is warm and we are all a little exhausted, kids and teachers alike, and we look forward for a nice summer break so we can return refreshed and ready to start all over again.

Today at Little Miss Muffet we are starting a new challenge.  Our challenge this time around is Rainbows, Clouds or Wings.  There are so many different ways to interpret this one, and so many great choices in images to use, that once I had my image picked out my card just seemed to fall together for me.  For the card I used the Little Miss Muffet image, Adela and Dida.  This is such a sweet fairy image, and comes with a few extras when you purchase it.  I also used the cloud digi, from the angel accessories set, and put these two together in Photoshop.  You don't have to use more than one of the challenge options, but I thought she would look good sitting on the cloud.

Materials Used for my Project:
Copic Markers - YG63, G43, YG62, G40, RV25, RV23, RV10, Rv000, E11, E01, E000, E0000
Black Cat Cutter
Crystal Stickles
Prima Flowers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Glossy Accents
I Rock Rhinestone embellishments

I'm entering my card into a few challenges.  A new one I just discovered is the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  Here's the sketch I made this card from, there was a choice of a square or circle card and I chose to make the circle card.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:

And, before you are off creating your own wonderful creations for our challenge this week, here is a close up of my colored image.

Saturated Canary - A Bookmark

Good morning everyone!  It is already a gloriously sunny day here but it is going to be a hot one so our plans are to stay inside and stay cool!  Not too terrible as we have spent the ENTIRE weekend outside and had an absolutely lovely time just being at home and being together!  One more "snow" day off for me and then I am back to work, for 3 days.  Rough, a whole three days, I know but it must be done.  Besides, there are only 4 weeks of school left to go and then summer can truly begin.  This weekend was a nice beginning though and hopefully we will have more fun to come.

Today I am posting a project I made for the current challenge over at Saturated Canary!  This time around there challenge is bookmarks and I made mine using one of Krista's new images, New Baby.  As soon as I saw this image on my friend Lou's blog I knew I had to have it!  It is just so perfect for all of us mother's out there, especially new mothers.  The expression on the mother's face just captures the pureness of a mother's love that we see every time a new baby is born.  I know I had it, and still do for both of my children, and for my step-son, even though I didn't to see him as a new baby.  I made this bookmark to send in a card I am going to make for a dear friend who recently told me she is pregnant.  Sadly, we are so busy we don't see each other much anymore but I am so excited by her news and wish her the best.  I figured she could use this bookmark to hold her place in all the new mom and baby books she'll be reading.

Seriously, isn't this just the sweetest image?!  It's just so precious and moving, it really is.  I'm not sure I like the fringe so much at the top of my bookmark, what a terrible time I had adding that, but I do think the beads compliment it nicely.

Materials I User for this Project:
Copic Markers - Y08, Y04, Y00, Y0000, RV23, RV10, RV00, RV0000, (hair)E59, E27, E25, E34, (skin) E13, E11, E01, E000
Magnolia Doohickey swirl die
Watercolor paper
Baby Feet stamp
Hero Arts sentiment stamp
SU baby feet roll stamp
Clear Shimmer embossing powder
Watercolors
Beads
Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Oval Punch
Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Oval Punch
Crystal Stickles

I wanted my background paper to be a heavy paper and a soft color at the same time.  I embossed my paper with a clear shimmer embossing powder using a baby feet stamp.  Then I added a watercolor wash using a very light yellow and pink colors.  It's mostly covered up right now but it did come out very nicely.

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Well, that's it for now!  I really enjoyed making this one and thought the soft yellow and pink colors were just perfect baby colors.
So glad you decided to stop by today,

Mo's Digital Pencil - Dream

Good evening, it has been glorious day here and we have spent most of it outside.  My husband put up the kids pools this weekend, one for the little one and a bigger one, you know the kind you can get at WalMart but with a filter, for the rest of us.  Today we all spent some time in them and had a blast.  The larger pool is just plain cold but our son's pool, although shallow, is big, and so us chickens spent a little time in there.  Anyway, as I said a glorious day, well truly a glorious weekend, and I am not ready for it to be over.  Unfortunately my husband has to go back to work tomorrow but the kids and I get another day at home.  Since we didn't use our snow days this winter we get them back now, hooray!  Another day of warm weather and spending time outside, at least for the kids and I anyway.

Tonight I am posting a card for this week's DP2 challenge.  This week their theme is World Traveler.  Let's face it, Mo has so many great images for this challenge.  There is such a variety in the store and let me tell you, I have NO PROBLEM going shopping and buying some new images when needed.  I mean, no problem at all.  So, that's what I did (SHHHH, don't tell my hubby),  I bought the Mo's image, Dream.  It's funny how your choice in images changes when your life changes.  I rarely made a card using a boy/male image unless necessary before the birth of my son.  Now I am on the look out for those cute boy images all the time, and this one fit the bill.

Materials Used For this Project:
Copic Markers
Glossy Accents
White Gel Pen
Buttons

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I am also entering my card into the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge Blog.  Here's the sketch I followed to make this card.

A Little Bit Country

Hello!  Happy Memorial Day to those of us in the United States!  Before I start my post today I just want to thank all of those men and women who chose to defend our country to allow us to keep our rights and continue to live in a free country.  The sacrifices they made affected so many people, most of who will never have known the person individually.  So today, I just want to thank them all for their choice and sacrifice.

My post today uses a Sarah Kay image, A Little Bit Country.  Okay, I'm typing up my blog at the moment and I HATE it!  Why, I am so droll, I mean no life or inspiration in my posts at all.  Oh my gosh, I wish I could just step outside my little box and type freely and easily.  I know then my posts would sound that way, but lets face it, they don't, ugh!  This summer my goal is to try and lighten up a little bit, really.  Life is too short to be so serious all the time or to sound so BORING!  I am so sorry if you are reading this, I am going to more lighthearted  and less droll from now on!  Phew, I feel better now, thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

As I was going to say earlier, my stamp comes from 7 Kids College Fund.  I made this card for my wedding anniversary, which is June 26.  We will have been married for 8 years.  I know, some of you think we are just babies, but it sure is funny how the time flies.  It seems like it just happened yesterday!

Now, before I post my project pictures I just have to post this one "interrupted" by my cat, Addy.  She just always has to be in the way and before you know it as I am snapping my picture this little black head gets in my way.  Too funny, the hubby and I had a good laugh over this one.  And no close up picture this time, she broke my concentration and I forgot to take one.  You get a nice fuzzy picture of her head instead.

There she is, nose right in the camera.  She stuck her face in there just as I was snapping the picture.  So, here you go, her five minutes of fame.

Materials Used for my Project:
Copic Markers - E37, E35, E34, E31, B28, B26, B24, B21, YR24, YR23, YR21, YR20, C9, C7, C5 C3, C1
MS Border Punch
MS Frond Punch
Gahered Twig Distress Ink Pad
Flowers
Metal Embellishement

Here's a look at the inside of the card.  The verse is from the Verve Stamp Set, Beautiful You.

I made my card using a sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog.  Here's their sketch for this week.

Phindy's Place Friday - 1,2,3 Challenge

Good morning everyone, Happy Friday!  For us here in the U.S.  it is going to be a long weekend in honor of Memorial Day.  On Monday we will honor all the men and women who have fought and died in order to protect our freedoms that we take for granted every day.  I can't imagine making the choice to put yourself in harms way, but I know that if they hadn't our lives could be very different than they are now.  I just want to say THANK YOU to all of these courageous people for making that choice and want to take a moment to honor their memory.

On a different note I am a very proud mama today.  My daughter got an award yesterday at school and we are all very proud of her!  We had homemade milkshakes last night to celebrate as they are her absolute favorite!  Of course we are going to frame and hang her award as we see it as a great accomplishment!

Now onto the challenge at Phindy's Place this week.  Our challenge is a 1,2,3 challenge, 1 image, 2 DP's and 3 embellishments.  Many of us often have a difficult time with these challenges, especially the three embellishments.  For my three embellishments I chose to use 3 types of embellishments, not just 3 embellishments only.  It is all up to your interpretation as long as it follows the 1,2,3 guidelines that have been set.  Don't forget, if you use a Phindy's Place image you get a second entry into our challenge for the random drawing at the end of the week.

For my project today I used the Phindy's Place image, Big Sister at Work.  I actually made this card for my mother on Mother's Day as it reminded me of my own son and daughter.

Materials I Used for this Project:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Nestabilities dies
Prima Flowers
Magnolia Doohickey die
Large Staples

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Now it's your turn!  Create your 1,2,3 project and link it up to our challenge.  Need a little extra inspiration, hop on by the challenge blog and see what our fabulous team has created to inspire you.  You'll be glad that you did!

7 Kids College Fund Wednesday - Nellie Snellen

Good morning everyone, Happy Hump Day!  The work week is half over which means that the weekend is halfway here.  A little closer for us this week as we have to use up our unused snow days and so the three day weekend we usually have here in the U.S. for Memorial Day has now turned into a 5 day weekend!  I am not complaining since that means we now have Friday - Tuesday off from work and school!  Even my husband, who doesn't get as many holidays off as we do at school, will be home on Monday with us.  It will hopefully be a nice weekend for us to spend together.

Today at 7 Kids College Fund we are starting a new challenge.  Our current challenge is a Nellie Snellen challenge.  Tab has recently gotten some of these fabulous stamps in the store so we thought what a great theme for a challenge.  I had never seen Nellie Snellen stamps before until they were in the 7 Kids College Fund store but now that I have seen them I am certainly addicted.  For my project I used the Nellie Snellen stamp, Sweet Elin Frog on Flower.  It really is sooooo cute and I always think of my sister whenever I see a stamp with a frog.  She likes frogs and has them all over her house and garden, mostly in her garden.

Materials I Used for my Project:
Copic Markers - YG67, YG63, YG61, G40, R02, R00, R000, E18, E15, E13, E11
Prima Flowers
Magnolia metal heart flourish die
Pearls

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Now it's your turn!  Grab your favorite Nellie Snellen stamp, just make sure it is one carried in the store, and then make your project and enter it into our challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create!  The 7 Kids Design Team members have come up with some really fabulous projects to inspire you!

Magnolia, Princess Party Tilda

Hello everyone, it's Tuesday afternoon and after a day of off and on heavy rain the sun is finally poking it's head through the clouds.  Oh, how I wish it would stay around for awhile.  We've had enough water and the sun can be such a mood booster, I really love the sun this time of year.  Alas, the local meteorologist has forecasted rain for the next few days and you know that when they forecast rotten, miserable weather, they are always right.  It's only the nice weather that they always seem to get wrong.  A girl can hope, maybe it will be nice for the weekend.  I've had such a fabulous day anyway.  I had to take my 15 year old daughter to the doctor for some skin allergies she's been having and the doctor wanted to know if I was her sister.  Talk about a mood booster, I sure liked that one!  I won't let her forget this anytime soon!

Today I am posting a card I made using a newer Magnolia image, Princess Party Tilda.  This was an image that I didn't think I needed when I first saw it, but the second I saw it on someone else's project, well, I just had to have it.  So now I do and today I made a project using her.  I bought this Tilda, as I do most of my Magnolia's, from the 7 Kids College Fund store.

For my project I made a art Journal/sketch book in the size I wanted for my own personal purposes.  I wanted to be able to do single page, or double page spreads in the same book.  I made this book square, 9x9 inches and I've been putting watercolor paper inside.  This paper is heavier and can hold whatever medium I like, for the most part, and is perfect for mixed media projects.   I bound my book with a wire comb and my Cinch.  I LOVE my Cinch.  I really do like binding projects and making unique things.

I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday when I put my book together.  I figured, why not?  Here's is what their sketch looked like for this week.

Materials I Used for this Project:
Prima Flowers
Pearls
Cinch

Here's a close up of my colored Tilda.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Flowers

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday morning!  We are finally getting some really warm weather here but now we are dealing with rain for a few days.  Better warm weather and rain then cold weather and rain.  I was finally able to plant some of my flowers this weekend and the rain will keep them growing and looking just beautiful.  Speaking of flowers, that is our challenge this time around at Tiddly Inks.  Use flowers anywhere on your project and then enter it into our challenge.

For my project this week I used one of Christy's newer images, Be Bold, Be You Ballerina.  I also used the sentiment that comes with this wonderful image on my card.  I love all things dance.  Any dance image out there, I just have to have it!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers - C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C0, E11, E01, E000, E0000
Prima Flowers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Spellbinder's dies

Mo's Digital Pencil - Circle Card

Hello everyone, Happy Monday!  Once again I've had a Mo's Digital image colored for weeks and haven't been able to make a project to enter into a challenge.  Either I've run out of time or my image didn't fit into a challenge, you know how it goes.  Yesterday I was trying to take it easy after a busy weekend and took a glance at the current Mo challenge.  Well, this image fit and I had a little extra time and poof, I was able to finish a project to enter.

This week at Mo's they wanted you to make a circle card, so I did.  I actually enjoy making various shaped cards, I am a girl who likes variety.  I used my new Black Cat cutter to cut my circular easel card and the circles for the inside.  I haven't had ton of time to play with my new cutter, and there is certainly a learning curve, but so far I love it!  I used one of Mo's new fairy images for my project today, Baby Fairy Sipping.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers
Prima Flowers
Black Cat Cougar Cutter
Crystal Stickles
Melissa Frances Flowers
Spellbinder's dies
Pearls

Here's a close up of this colored cutie.

So, there you go, my project for the DP2 challenge this week.  I'm so happy to have it finished and to enter.

Phindy's Place Friday - Summer is Coming

Good morning everyone, Hooray for Friday!  We have a busy weekend with dance rehearsals and then my daughter's dance recitals on Saturday.  I currently have a low key day planned for Sunday so we can recuperate before the work week begins again. She has cut back a lot in dance this year but it still will be a busy time for us.  Wish us luck, and energy!

Today at Phindy's Place our challenge is , Summer is Coming.  And, with Memorial Day just around the corner in the U.S. this is certainly the truth.  We see Memorial Day as the "unoffical" start of summer.  Unfortunately our weather is a little confused and has been fairly rainy and cool lately.  We are supposed to be in for a nice weekend though, so we can look forward to that!

For my project this week I used the Phindy's Place image, Dragonfly Days.  It reminded me of my son as we live near a pond.  Actually, it's basically right outside our front door, and he was at the pond watching a dragonfly with grandma the other day.

Materials I used for My Project:
Copic Markers - YR09, YR07, YR04, YR01, B28, B26, B24, B21, G05, G02, G00, R27, R24, R21, R20
SU Bashful Blue stamp pad
MS Double border Punch
Spellbinder's border die
CM circle punches

Here's a close up of this colored cutie.

Now it's up to you, get out those favorite summer images and play along in our challenge this week!  You don't have to use a Phindy's image but we really love when you do!  Also, you get a second entry into the random drawing every time you enter a Phindy's image into the challenge.  Don't forget to stop by and get inspired by the other great DT projects for this week!

Phindy's Place Friday - Christmas in May

Good morning, it's Friday!  Oh Yeah, I have been waiting for this day since Monday!  Sad, I know, but true!  Our weather is so crazy and miserable here, the weeks have been plain nuts and I'm ready to go down into my craft room and NEVER leave!  Seriously,  I get a little bit of peace when I am down there, at least when I am down there by myself, and I am in the mood for peace!  And, speaking of peace, our challenge over at Phindy's Place is a Christmas challenge.  Yup, you read that correctly, we are celebrating Christmas in May over at Phindy's Place.  A nice change up from all of those spring projects and Christams is the time of year for joy and peace.

For my project this week I used the Phindy's Place image, Kitty Snuggle.  I've always loved this one and decided to color her using mostly red copics.

Materials I Used for my Project:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R22, R21, C7, C5, C3, C1, E11, E01, E000, E0000
MS Snowflake border punch, large snowflake punch and small snowflake punch
Pearls

For my project today I used a sketch from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge blog and I am going to enter my card into their challenge for this week.  Here's what the original sketch looked like before I made it into my card.

Well, now it's your turn to make your Christmas inspired projects.  You can always get a jump start on those Christmas projects and enter our challenge while you are.  There's plenty of inspiration by the other Phindy's Place DT members!
