Phindy's Place Friday - Song or Movie

Good morning everyone, congratulations you made it to Friday!  The kids and I are off on a few errand this morning and then we will be coming home and cooling off inside the house.  The heat is supposed to reach 90 today and that is the beginning of where my heat threshold really begins to dwindle.  Now, I know some of you endure a lot hotter temperatures than this but, when you fluctuate between extreme heat one season and then extreme cold another, well, your body gets a little cranky.  Today's heat is the beginning of the cranky feeling but thankfully it isn't going to get to much hotter so our AC should be able to keep up!

Today at Phindy's Place we are starting a new challenge and this time around we want your projects to be inspired by a song or a movie.  I often have a difficult time time with this type of theme, I tend to draw a blank with the movies and songs I know.  You would think I don't know that many but, that isn't the case, my mind simply goes blank.  Don't worry, it happens often, you get used to it after awhile!

For my project I chose the movie The Bad New Bears.  Now, I know this is an oldie, but let's face it, a goodie and this little guy is just perfect for my project.  When you work with kids sometimes you tend to get images such as the Bad News Bears, The Sandlot and other kids themed movie in your mind.  The image I used for this project is the Phindy's Place image, Bubble Gum.

I'm sure you have heard me say over and over and over again that I find male cards so difficult to make.  So I decided to be a little creative this time and make the card shape a baseball jersey and then added my little guy to the front.  It's still CAS  but uniquely shaped, which I like.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers - Y15, Y13, Y11, Y000, E37, E35, E34, E31, E53, E51, E50
Black Cat Cougar Cutter
Spellbinder's Nestabilities Oval dies
Glossy Accents

Here's a close up of my bad news player.

So, now it's your turn, pick your favorite song or movie and then create a project using that theme.  If you need a little extra inspiration you know you can always find it with the ladies from our DT, they always make such awesome projects!
So glad you stopped by today,

Tiddly Inks - Sisters

Good afternoon my friends!  The heat is slowly making it's way back into our lives and as I am typing I am listening to the clicking sound of our fan.  Yes, you heard me right, clicking.  It's very rhythmic, basically as it spins the fan goes click, click, click, click........ with every rotation.  Now, for the most part I have stopped noticing this noise as we have lived in our house for almost six years and the fan has made the noise the ENTIRE time we've been here .  Why am I noticing it today, well others have begun to notice the noise and mention it every time our fan is on.  So, now it is on my mind and in my mind.  You should know that I am one of those people that really doesn't deal well with irritating noises, they just drive me bonkers. Yet this sound is very rhythmic and melodic so I almost don't notice it, almost.

I am happy to be making a second post for the day again, two days in a row, this is really a record.  Don't expect it again tomorrow though 'cause I'm pretty sure it just isn't going to happen.  Soooooo, this afternoon's card uses one of the fabulous images from Tiddly Inks.  Today's image is titled sisters and for anyone with sisters you will definitely appreciate it.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid flowers
Rhinestones
Spellbinder's Nestabilities dies
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Crystal Stickles

That's it for me today!  I'm off to create, read, follow kids around and all of the above.  See you next time!

Little Miss Muffet - Sparkle

Good morning my crafty friends!  Today we are starting a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet and it is one of my favorites, Sparkle.  I LOVE to make my cards and projects sparkle anytime I can.  In fact, I like sparkly, shiny things to begin with.  Okay, okay, I know, what girl doesn't, but I really do like things that shine, I just do!

For my project that I am sharing with you today I used the Little Miss Muffet image, Cadrian.  I've also found a new challenge to enter this week and it is at the Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog.  They have a sketch this week and I've used it on my project.  Now, I kind of got a LITTLE carried away with my embellishments, so it is not so easy to see that I followed the sketch, but I really did, really!

Here's the sketch that I followed.

And here's my project for this week.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers - G17, YG67, YG63, YG61, G46, G43, G40, W3, W1, W0
Wild Orchid Flowers
Rhinestones
EK Success Border Punch
SU Scalloped border punch
Magnolia Doohickey die
Spellbinder's Circle dies
MS Frond Punch
Crystal Stickles

Hmmm, okay, so maybe I did go a little overboard with my embellishments and my punches.  I guess I just really wanted my project to sparkle, ya know!  Well, here's my close up of my colored image.

I'm going to enter my project into a few other challenges as well.  The other challenges I'm entering it into are........

Well, that's it for my post for today.  Don't forget to check out the other great DT projects at the Little Miss Muffet challenge blog.  I hope you play along!

Saturated Canary - Red, White and Blue

Hi everyone, I'm back again for my second post of the day.  It's been quite some time since I have been able to post twice in one day but, here I am and this time I am bringing you a project using an image from Saturated Canary, Wendy.  I swear, I could sit around day after day and color and create and just live in my craft room, that is if the rest of the world didn't exist.  But, since they do I have to leave time for the rest of my life, which is why a second post in one day is rare.  Besides, I tend to go a little overboard in my thinking of what I would like to do for my projects and they end up taking me longer to make than I would like.  Sometimes that is a good thing, other times, not so much!

Since the challenge at Saturated Canary is Red, White and Blue this time around I decided I wanted to use one of her little girl images.  This image, Wendy, reminded of a little girl who might be sitting watching a Fourth of July parade or maybe even waiting for some fireworks.  When I was coloring her, that is the image I had in mind and it guided me to where I wanted to put my red, white and blue colors.

I also used the sketch from The Sweet Stop challenge blog for my project so I will be entering my card into the challenge there as well.

I'm also going to enter my project into the challenge over at the Color Me Creative copic site.  The challenge there this time around is big hair and Wendy does have very long hair for sure!

Materials I Used For My Project:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R22, R20, B28, B26, B24, B21, E49, E59, E39, E34(hair), E13, E11, E01, E000, R21 (skin)
CM start punches
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS border punch
Glossy Accents
Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Large circle and Scalloped circle dies

Here's a close up of my red, white and blue cutie.

Mo's Digital Pencil - GiddyUp

Good morning everyone, how are you on this wonderful Wednesday?  I am finally starting to feel better after a miserable cold coming on the minute school ended.  Such is the way I guess and I am just grateful I could be home to rest instead of running out to work while feeling miserable!

Today I am posting a card that I made for the challenge at the Mo's Digital Pencil challenge blog.  This week the challenge was to make a male inspired card, like many of you this is just such a weakness for me.  I can never think of embellishments that are manly yet nice looking. I always feel like my male cards are just, well, they just look plain.  Today's card isn't any different but I finished and I would like to enter it into today's challenge.  For the card I used the image, GiddyUp.

I am also going to enter my card into the challenge at the Sketch Saturday Challenge blog.

Materials Used for This Project:
Copic Markers - R27, R24, R22, R20, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, E35, E34, E31, E30
SU Bashful Blue stamp pad

Sarah Kay - Precious Moments

Hi everyone!  It's official, I am now on summer vacation.  Of course, now that vacation has officially started I have miserable head congestion which I think is a combination of a head cold/allergies.  When cleaning the classroom for the summer there was so much dust flying around that it was impossible to not breath a ton of it in as I was putting everything away.  So, today I just took it easy and even read a good portion of a book. That's right, I read a book, hooray!  I LOVE to read but during the school year it is next to impossible to do so, time is not my friend.  So, now that I have a few extra minutes I am going to try and soak up as much reading time as I can.  I'm even part of the Bookendz group at the Color Me Creative site and I have to say that so far the books that I have had the time to read from here have been wonderful!  That's what today's book was, one of the June selections, The Story of Beautiful Girl.  I am halfway through this book and I just can't put it down, it's really a great read.

Today I am posting a project using the Sarah Kay image, Precious Moments.  I thought that the girl in this image should be standing in a field of daisies and grass, so I added this to the bottom, just in case you have the same image and are wondering why it looks a little different.  I purchased the stamp at 7 Kids College Fund, along with several other beautiful Sarah Kay images.  I really feel that these images have such a timeless look about them.

Materials I used For My Project:
Copic Markers - B18, B14, B12, B000, E55, E53, E51, E50, Y13, Y11, Y000, Y0000
Cherry Lynn die
Fiskars Flower Punch
Pearls
MS Frond and Rose Leaf Punches

Phindy's Place Friday - Gingham or Plaid

Good morning everyone, Happy Friday!  I finally made it to the last day of school, but it has been a long two weeks and I am exhausted.  The last day if school is always such a bittersweet day, summer vacation is a great time to catch your breath and get ready to start again next year BUT after a year of working so closely with these kids I am always sad to see them go.  They are a great group of kids and I really enjoyed my year with them.

Today at Phindy's Place our challenge is gingham or plaid.  For your project this week just use gingham or plaid on it somewhere and then link it up.  I always love to see what you create.  Remember, you don't have to use a Phindy's Place image but we always LOVE when you do.  Besides, with so many great choices in images you really can't go wrong!  For my project I used the Phindy's Place image, Potted Primroses.

Materials Used on My Project:
Copic Markers - R20, R12, R01, R000, E31, E30, E50, E0000
Wild Orchid Flowers
Spellbinder's dies
Pearls
EK Success border punch
SU Bashful Blue stamp pad

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Now it's your turn, create your project following our challenge guidelines and then link it up.  I can't wait to see what you create.  Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog for inspiration, the other ladies have made some gorgeous projects to inspire you!

So glad you stopped by today,

7 Kids College Fund Wednesday - Orange Creamsicle

Good morning everyone, I hope you are staying cool today!  We are in for some super hot weather and I am not looking forward to it.  Although my students only have a half a day of school today I am there for the entire day with NO air conditioning.  Now, I am not a big fan of air conditioning, after being cooped up in my house all winter I like open windows.  BUT, when it is hot, well, a girl needs her air conditioning.  I'm not sure, but I think I might melt before I actually make it home tomorrow.  I hope my house can stay cool because I'll need it, but our air conditioning at home has a hard time keeping up when it is this hot.  Thank goodness for nice, cool basements!

This week at 7 Kids College Fund our challenge is Orange Creamsicle.  Yes, you read that correctly, orange creamsicle, and if you're like me you already have ice cream on your mind.  Which, actually is good for today with all of our miserable heat.  In fact, the entire time I was working on my project I just couldn't get the colors orange and white out of my mind.  I really wanted to color Miss Peony's dress orange and white but once I started I couldn't figure out where I wanted to leave the white spots so I it looked nice.  I can now as I'm typing but that isn't going to do much good, is it?

Peony is the name of the Kraftin' Kimmie image I used for today's project.  I made a center step card because I needed a little change from the typical square and rectangle shape.  I also used watercolor paper for my background paper and then used SU bee stamps to jazz it up.  What I did was use 3 different shades of orange, just like I did with my copic markers for Peony's dress, and had them going in a light to darkest shade.  I was happy with the way it came out and hope to try it again with other colors and projects.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers - Many shades of YR, E 57, E55, E53, E51(HAIR), E11, E01. E000, E0000(skin), E35, E34, E31, E30(beehive)
Wild Orchid Flowers
SU Just Buzzin By stamp set
Reflections glitter flourished border
Pearls

Here's a close up of my colored images.

Well, my crafty friends, now it is your turn!  Pull out your orange and peachy colors, add a little white and then play along with us for this week.  BUT, don't forget that in order to play you must use a product carried by the 7 Kids College Fund store.  Need a little inspiration, no worries, we have some.  Stop on by the challenge blog and see what the other DT ladies have created.  Their projects are super awesome this week, well they always are, so why not stop by and see what they have for you.  You'll be glad that you did!
So glad you decided to stop by today,

Little Miss Muffet - Little Misses

Good morning, is it hot where you are?  It is miserable here and we have one more day to go, at least that's what is being forecasted at the moment.  I didn't used to mind the heat so much when I was a kid, but the older I get the more it bothers me.  I don't mind dry heat as much as humidity, and we have both at the moment.  By the end of the day you are so worn out you just don't want to move.  The weekend is looking better, thank goodness.  I hope you all can just stay cool and enjoy your day!

Today at Little Miss Muffet six Little Misses are now available in rubber.  That means that these six images will now be retiring in their digi form.  They will only be available as digi's until Wednesday, June 27 at midnight Central US time.  Barbara is going to be out of town for the weekend so orders will be processed on Tuesday, June 26.  Since there is going to be a delay in receiving your images everyone who orders before Monday, June 25 midnight Central US time will receive a random Sugar & Spice image for free!  How can you beat that!

So, today I am showing you a card using one of the retiring digi images that is now available in rubber, Taylor.

Mo's Digital Challenge - At the Park

Hello there, another quick post for my Mo's challenge entry this evening but I am running on empty and with three days of school to go, and a lot to accomplish by Friday, I am running on empty.  I actually made my card for my dad for Father's Day and when I saw this week's challenge I thought it would fit nicely.  I used the image The Big Guy Grilling and during the summer there is often grilling at the park, especially if it is a state park like we have around here.

So, here he is!  My dad is the one who does the grilling at our family get togethers, especially at his house, so this image made me think of him.  The funny part, my dad isn't a big guy, he's more and averaged size guy, so I can't really say this is a "perfect" fit for him

Here's a close up of my colored image.

Well, that's it for me.  time to join hubby for some zzzz's before I start another long day tomorrow!
So glad you could stop by,

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Pink

Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday.  Today is my kindergartners last full day of school for the 2011-2012 school year.  In just a few more days my kindergartners will be first graders and I will be preparing myself for a whole new group of kindergartners in the fall.  As much as I love summer vacation it's always hard to say goodbye to a group of students who you have spent so much time with.  They grow so much over the school year and it is nice to see the changes that happen as they move on with their educational journey.  I always miss them and I secretly hope they will stop by for a quick hi when they become big first graders.

Today at Tiddly Inks we have a new challenge for you.  Our change this time around is PINK, so, all you need to do is use pink on your project.  But, don't forget to use a Tiddly Inks stamp as well so you can be entered to win our prize for the challenge.  For my project today I used the Tiddly Inks image, Lili Claire Make-a-Wish.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers - RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21, RV10, E59, E57, E35, E31, E11, E01, E000, E0000

Christy's also releasing a few new images today and they care cu-ute!  Don't forget to stop by the store and check them out!

Now it's your turn to play along with our challenge.  Create your pink colored project using a Tiddly Inks image and then link it up to our challenge.  Too busy, don't worry, you have 2 weeks to play along.  Need inspiration, again, no problem.  Stop by the challenge blog and check out all the other gorgeous projects by the other Tiddly Inks DT members.  You'll be so glad that you did, those ladies are just awesome.

Well, I'm off!  A lot f paperwork and cleaning this week before school can be officially over.  My plane for the summer, craft, craft, craft of course!

Phindy's Place Friday - Beach Babies

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!  One more Friday to go before summer vacation, woohoo!  Although this summer is going to be pretty busy I love to wake in the mornings WITHOUT the use of my alarm clock!  Funny thing is that most of the time I wake up before the alarm clock goes off anyway EXCEPT on those days where I forget to turn the alarm on, then, of course, I oversleep!

Today at Phindy's Place the challenge is fitting for my summer vacation mood.  This week our challenge is, Beach Babies, and the beach is definitely a summer theme!  For my project this week I used the Phindy's Place image, Summer Bare.  This is such a great one for this theme and just an incredibly cute image of it's own accord!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic markers
Cheery Lynn doily die
Spellbinder's Nestabilties dies
EK Success Beach Border Punch
EK Success Flourish punch
Wild Orchid Flowers

Little Miss Muffet - Loads of Layers

Good morning everyone!  The rain has finally pulled out of our area and we are supposed to be enjoying a warm day today with plenty of sunshine!  The countdown is getting closer to the beginning of summer vacation, with only 8 days left of the school year to go.  I am looking forward to a little R&R and then catching up on things around the house that I have a difficult time getting done during the school year.  We will see what motivation I have for my odd projects around the house this summer.

Today at Little Miss Muffet we are starting a new challenge.  This time around we want to see your layers as our challenge is "Loads of Layers".  Now, although I love clean and simple cards, I have really begun to love my layers.  This was a fun challenge, especially since I of course used some of my embellishments as my layers. I mean, really, what is a layered card with out your favorite embellishments?

For my card I used the Little Miss Muffet image, Summer Breeze.

Materials Used For My Project:
Copic Markers -
Spellbinder's dies
MS Large Border Punch
MS Frond Punch
MS Rose Leaf Punch
Wild Orchid Roses
Crystal Embellishments
Crystal Stickles

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Now it's your turn to take a chance at playing along.  Hop on back to the blog to see the other inspirational projects by the Little Miss Muffet Design Team and then get creating!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Oh yeah, I'm also going to enter my card into the challenge at Color Me Creative whose challenge this week is Babies!  For my project I used the Mo's image, Twins!

Saturated Canary - Marry Me

Good afternoon my blogging friends!  Another gorgeous day here in the Northeast with the addition of a very soft late spring breeze.  I find these types of  breeze's to be so peaceful and relaxing, a nice way to feel after work in the afternoon.  The kids must feel that way also because it is nice and quiet here at the moment and I find myself alone inside my head, something that doesn't happen very often when you are the mother of a three year old and a teenager.  I've decided to take this opportunity to post my next card which uses the Saturated Canary image, Marry Me.  Since the challenge at Saturated Canary this week is Anything Goes I'm going to add my card in this challenge.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers - C4, C2, Colorless Blender, RV10, RV000, RV0000, E57, E55, E35, E31(hair), E13, E11, E01, E000(skin)
Crystal Stickles
Border Pearls
Pearls
EK Success Border Punch
MS Frond Punch
Prima Flowers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Spellbinder's die
Glossy Accents

Here's a close up of my colored image.

I added a little light pink to her dress and the card because I wanted to break up the traditional white dress with a bit of color.  I like the look it gave the card, traditional, yet non-traditional at the same time.

So glad you stopped by today,

C.C. Designs - Rainy Day Brigitta

Hi everyone, it's an absolutely gorgeous evening here in the northeast, minus a little humidity.  After days of clouds and rain though, a little humidity is a welcome addition to the weather.  The boys, hubby and my son, got outside earlier to enjoy the day and we had a nice dinner outside on our deck with hubby grilling our food.  Now we are just winding down and getting ready to call it a night.   Our choice of television program is Calliou, my son's choice of course, and us grown ups are watching along.  It's better than most of the other programs on the television anyway.

Tonight I am posting a card using the C.C. Designs image, Rainy Day Brigitta, which I purchased from 7 Kids College Fund.  There's something about that over sized leaf that really just makes this stamp stand out.  I played around with some of my copic colors and like the tones and hues of the colors I used on this image.  I also am going to enter this card into this week's challenge at The Sweet Stop.  Here's the sketch for their challenge this week.

And, here's the card I made using this sketch.

Materials I Used For My Project:
Copic Markers - G17, YG67, YG63, YG61, BG49, BG57, BG45, BG01, (skin)E13, E11, E01, E000, (hair) E59, E57, E35, E31
