Sylvia Zet - Let It Snow

Hiya everyone, how are you doing on this Tuesday evening?  We were very lucky to have no damage from Hurricane Sandy.  We didn't even lose any power, although it did blink on and off a few times, but that was the worst of it.  The only real change in my day was having to take a side road on my way to work as there was a very large branch in the middle of the road.  By the time I came home it was gone and life was back to normal.  I can't say the same for other areas though, especially NYC.  We are a few hours north of the city and it is just amazing what those hours can do in terms of how the weather affects us.  Forget hours, my in-laws live in upper Manhattan where they have power while lower Manhattan is devastated and does not.  Of course, they can't really travel anywhere as all bridges and transportation is currently shut down, but at least they are okay and are safe.

Today I am posting a card I made using a Sylvia Zet image, Let It Snow.  I just found these style of stamps by Sylvia Zet and I really like them.  I tried to color this one in a distressed style using my copic markers.  I wanted a more gray distressed tone instead a brown one so I used my SU Sahara Sand stamp pad to achieve that look.

Materials I Used for My Project:
MS Snowflake punches
Wild Orchid Flowers

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Make it Like Lou

Hello everyone, Happy Tuesday!  I hope this day finds you well and everyone who has been in the path of Sandy is safe.  As I'm preposting this I'm not sure if our power held on or not, but at the moment we are doing well, for all the wind blowing outside!  My poor sister is without power though, and she only lives about 10 minuted from me.  The power has blinked a couple of times, but so far so good.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.  Of course my bigger concern is for those of you who were in the storm surge path and had heavy wind and rain to deal with.  I am really praying that you get through with little to no damage, despite the forecast.

Today at Tiddly Inks we have a new challenge for you and this time it is Make it Like Lou.  Make a project inspired by the fabulous card below by my fellow DT member Lou.  you can use anything about this card to inspire you, the color, the image, the sketch, whatever moves you.  Then make a projecting using a Tiddly Inks image and post it up to our challenge.  We love to see what you create and with such great inspiration I know you all are sure to come up with some amazing cards!

For my project I chose one of the newer Wryn images, Winter Wryn and Snowman.  I'm onto my Winter/Christmas projects and the colors and design of this card seemed just perfect to use to create something using this theme.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
MS Snowflake border Punch
Pearls

Here's a closer look at my colored Wryn and her snowman companion.

Well, know you see what I have up my sleeve so it's your turn to play around with our inspiration card by Lou this week!  As always my friends at Tiddly Inks have outdone themselves, so just stop by the challenge blog to get a little more inspiration from them.  Trust me, you'll be glad that you did!

Tiddly Inks - Wryn Caroling

Hi all!  I am trying to catch up a little on a few posts I missed this weekend as I was feeling, well, blah!  Anyway, I am not quite ready to turn in yet so I thought I would pop in quick and share my latest Tiddly Inks creation with you.  Of course, we are battling Sandy and heavy winds and my power is blinking a little more frequently at the moment so I hope it stays on until I finish this post at least.  We have a generator but the power usually kicks off completely first before the generator kicks in.  Besides, I am never a hundred percent confident that the generator is going to work.  It's fairly new and hasn't let us down yet, but I am such a silly worry wart!

Today I am posting a project using the Tiddly Inks image, Wryn Caroling.  I made a set of 6 cards and a box to hold them in.  I made square cards, which I don't usually do when I am making sets, but I thought it would be fun this time.

I try not over embellish when I am making a set of cards be cause it makes it harder to reproduce and store them.  Instead of using my Wild Orchid Flowers, which I LOVE, I used a Fiskars flower punch and snowflake to make my own.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
MS Snowflake Punch
MS Snowflake border Punch
Pearls
Acetate
Spellbinder's Circle and Scalloped Cirlce dies
Fiskars Small Flower Punch

Here's a closer look and Wryn and her caroling cuteness.

7 Kids College Fund - Thankful

Hi everyone, how are you on this Wednesday!  I'm off to work and trying desperately to get through the day.  I got home late last night, okay it was 8 o'clock, but that is late for me and since I leave the house at 7am I had more than a 12 hour day.  I was glad for once to be out though as I went to a free concert at my church.  They had a wonderful youth choir from Africa come in and it was so spectacular.  The group is called Watoto and they travel singing to advocate for orphaned children in Africa.  You can find more out about them by clicking HERE to get to their website.  I have to thank the religious ed. director at our church for getting them to make us a stop on their tour.

This brings to me to our current challenge at 7 Kids College Fund, Being Thankful  I know after watching these amazing kids and listening to their stories I am grateful for all that I have in my life.  For my project I used the Magnolia image, Tilda with Lovely Jam.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Cryogen White paper
Memento Tuxedo Black In pad
Spellbinder's Classic Oval and Scalloped oval dies
Cheery Lynn Flourish die
Wild Orchid Flowers
Glossy Accents
Unity KOM October 2012 sentiment stamp

Well, that's it for me at the moment.  I hope you can take the time to come and play along with us.  The other  7 Kids DT ladies have created some fabulous projects for your inspiration.  I hope you can take some time to stop by the challenge blog and check them out!

Little Miss Muffet - Halloween

Good morning everyone!  The weather is beautiful, the work week is almost over and I am ready for the weekend.  I am ready to take some time to go in my craft room and play, play, play!  I just need a break from the outside world and would love some time to get lost in my own thoughts.  The best place to do this for me is in my craft room, of course somehow everyone in my family finds a way to need me while I am there.  Oh well, a girl can dream can't she.

Today at Little Miss Muffet we have a new challenge for you.  Our challenge this time around is Halloween.  It's hard to believe that October is almost over and that Halloween is just around the corner.  We are still trying to figure out to what to do for our little guy for a Halloween costume   His current choice is Buzz LightYear since he is really into the Toy Story movies at the moment.  I don't know about all of your little ones, but whenever he gets into a new movie we have to watch it more times than I thought was humanly possible.  We've been through several Disney movie series at this point and I could probably tell you most of the lines in each of these movies in my sleep!

For my card I used the Little Miss Muffet image, Lil' Spook.  This is such a cute Halloween image and so great for a male card, which I still struggle with no matter how hard I try.  I used the sketch from the Sketch Saturday Blog for my card today so I am going to enter into the challenge over there.

Here is my card.

Here is the sketch I used to make my card.

Materials I Used from My Project:
Copic Markers
Glossy Accents
MS Boo craft Punch
Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
SU Scalloped border punch
Crystals

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Now it's your turn.  I hope you can take some time to play along, we sure love when you do!  Need a little more inspiration, then stop on by the challenge blog to check out the projects by the Little Miss Muffet DT members.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Halloween

Hello my crafty friends?  How is your Tuesday going?  We've had such crazy weather lately.  Cold one day, warm and rainy another, cold again.  It just can't make up it's mind!  Fall is flying by and the leaves are just turning colors before they seem to fall off the trees.  With the lack of snow we had last year and the enormous amount of rain we have been getting lately I am really curious about what winter will bring.  I know my little guy is hoping for some snow to play in.  Me, I'm happy to watch the snow from inside and let him and his daddy play in the cold stuff!

Well, enough about our weird weather, today at Tiddly Inks we are starting a new challenge.  Our challenge this time around is to make a card with a Halloween theme.  Christy has been adding such perfect images to the store for this challenge.  For my project I used one of the new Tiddly Inks image, Trick or Treat Wryn's.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Copic Markers
Crystal Stickles
MS spider web border punch
MS Pumpkin Punch
Spellbinder's Circle and Scalloped Circle dies
Black Cat Cougar cutter
Black Rhinestones
Glossy Accents
Wild Orchid Flowers

The sentiment I created in PhotoShop when I just couldn't find one that would fit my project just right.

Here's a closer look at these colored cuties.

Now it's your turn!  Create your Halloween inspired projects using your favorite Tiddly Inks image and link it up to the challenge blog.  For some extra inspiration stop by the challenge blog and see what fabulous projects the other DT gals have created!

Sylvia Zet - Mountain Lily

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday evening to all of you!  I am pretty exhausted on this tonight, but I wanted to post my newest project made using a Sylvia Zet image, Mountain Lily, which I got from the 7 Kids College Fund store.  I felt this image had such a winter feel about it that I made my project with this is mind.  You could use this creation as a Winter decoration or maybe an extra large ornament on a Christmas tree.

I am planning on putting this in my ETSY shop and I thought this would make a nice gift, especially with a matching box.  So I made a thin box that this decoration fits in perfectly.  There is acetate on the top of the box so that the snowflake hanging is protected but you can see the image on the inside.

Materials I used on My Project
Copic Markers
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
Cryogen White paper
Spellbinder's Grand Circle dies
Crystal Stickles
Button Snowflakes
Wild Orchid Flowers
Pearls
Glossy Accents

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Little Miss Muffet - New Releases

Good morning to all of you out there in Blogland!  How's it going on this fall Thursday in October?  We have made it through most of the week and are getting closer to the weekend by the minute.  This week was a short one for me, some of us had Monday off here in the U.S., and I will never understand why a short work week often leaves me more exhausted than a regular week.  Strange, I know, but just how it seems to work for me.

Today at Little Miss Muffet we have some fabulous new Halloween release images for you!  Great images just in time for your Halloween themed projects.  For my project I used the new image, Agent cupcake at Halloween.  I realized after coloring her though that I currently have a real strong theme of pink and blue going, especially when making projects with my Little Miss Muffet images.  I am going to have to branch out my colors as I finish out this year!

Materials I Used on my Project:
Copic Markers
Flowers
Rhinestones
MS Rose Leaf Punch
Silver Perfect Pearl Pen
Crystal Stickles
Glossy Accents

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

I followed the sketch from the Deconstructing Jen blog for my project today.  I'm going to link it up here for her current challenge.  If you would like to see the other new release images and the awesome projects created by the other Little Miss Muffet DT members then just hop on over to the blog to check them out!

7 Kids College Fund - Black and Orange

Good morning everyone!  How are you on this Wednesday?  I am enjoying cooler weather and beautiful fall colors at the moment.  The oranges, yellows and red are spectacular this year and I take it them in every time I walk out our door.  My family and I are lucky enough to live in a beautiful spot where you can really appreciate each season and it's changes.

Today at 7 Kids College Fund we have a new challenge for you.  This time around we are looking for your Black and Orange projects.  With Fall here and Halloween just around the corner this challenge is just fitting.  I hope you have some seasonal inspiration for this one and can play along.  For my project I used the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set, Halloween Lulu.  I wanted to make a decoration for our front door for Halloween so I used this great set to put one together.

Materials I Used for My Project:
MS Halloween border Punch
MS Frond Punch
Wild Orchid Flowers
Black Rhinestones

Here's a closer look at each of Lulu's costumes.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Anything Goes

Good morning everyone!  It's Tuesday morning and I am typing this post just before my time to go and get ready for work.  I finally finished this project on my extra day off yesterday.  I've had this adorable fairy colored for weeks and just haven't had a chance to put a project together with it.  This week's Anything Goes challenge at the DP2 blog is the perfect opportunity and my extra day off gave me just the time needed to put the project together.  The image I used was Winter Fairy Talva, I just LOVE Mo's fairies!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Spellbinders Grand Circle and Scalloped Circle dies
MS Snowflake punches
MS Snowflake border Punch
Crystal Stickles
Copic Aribrush
Heat embossing powder
MS Flocking Powder
Deco Art SnowTex

I used a lot of different mediums on this project.  They helped to give the entire project a winter feeling!  Here's a closer look at my colored fairy.

Well, I'm off to get a few cuddles from my son who woke up and appeared as I was writing this post.  Then it's time to get ready for the work day.  Have a great one everyone!

Saturated Canary - Office Equiptment

Hi everyone!  After a nice day off of hanging out in my sweats all day I am winding down and about to call it a night.  Before I do I want to post a Saturated Canary project that I am going to enter in their current challenge.  This time around at Saturated Canary the challenge was to use office products.  I'll admit, it took my awhile to figure out how I was going to pull this one off but then I decided to spice up a few paper clips and add them to my project.  For today's project I used the Saturated Canary image, Witchies.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
MS Web Border Punch
Spellbinder's dies
Black Cat Cougar Cutter
Paper Clips
Rainbow Stickles
Glossy Accents
Ribbon

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Aren't these three just the cutest?  I know, I got a little carried away with the glitter, but it's a Halloween image, you need a lot of glitter.  I also airbrushed my paper clips and attached my glitter embellishments to them.

Little Miss Muffet - Simplicity

Good morning to all of you!  Happy Thursday, I hope you are enjoying your day thus far!  If you are working, remember, it is Thursday and the weekend is just around the corner.  This weekend is our first looooong weekend off from school.  Here in the U.S. we will be celebrating Columbus Day which means we honor Christopher Columbus and get an extra day off from the school.

Today at Little Miss Muffet we have a new challenge for you.  This time around we are looking for your "Simple" or CAS, Clean and Simple cards.  Once upon a time these used to be my favorite but the more time I spend using my embellishments the harder they seem to be to create.  For my project today I used the Little Miss Muffet image, Gertrude Lena Hatter.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Diamond Stickles
MS large border punch
Spellbinder's Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
Pearls

Here's a closer look at my colored "hatter".

I hope you have the opportunity to play along.  Don't forget, if you are able to use a Little Miss Muffet then the theme of the challenge for you is Anything Goes.  I hope you can take some time to stop by the blog and get some further inspiration by the other Little Miss Muffet DT members.

Magnolia - Scooter Tilda

Hi friends, I am back for a second post today and it is another fall inspired project.  Somewhere along the way in my adult life I fell in love with the cooler weather of fall, the colors and all the changes that happen around you at this time of year.  That goes for creating as well so I am now on my fall "kick".  With Christmas just around the corner it will be time for those reds, blues and greens soon enough so I might as well play around with my oranges, browns and yellows for as long as I can.

Today I am posting a project using the Magnolia image, Scooter Tilda, which I got from 7 Kids College Fund.  This project took me some time because after coloring up my image I decided I wanted to use my Black Cat Cougar cutter for some of the embellishments.  I don't get a chance to use it very often and so it took me a little time to get it to cut my die cut the way I wanted.

Materials I Used for My Project:
Wild Orchid Flowers

Here's a closer look at my colored Tilda.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Fall

Good morning everyone!  It's Tuesday again and you know what that means, a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks.  This time around our challenge is FALL inspired and I think the timing for this one if just right.  This weekend the fall colors really starting showing up and many more leaves are beginning to fall off of the trees.  Every day when we get home from work and school now my son needs to stop and pick up a leaf to bring inside.  In fact, he told me just yesterday that he needed some more.  The things you need when you are three.

For my project today a used a fairly older Tiddly Inks image, Tree Hugger.  I colored this image up with fall colors and was able to create a fall scene.  It lent itself just perfectly to this weeks theme.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Floral Flourish die
Spellbinder's Octagon and Scalloped Octagon dies
Prima Flowers
Wild Orchid Flowers
IRock Rhinestone embellishments
MS Rose Leaf Punch
MS leaf punch

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Now it's your turn, pick your favorite Tiddly Inks image, color it with your fall inspired colors and link it up to our challenge blog.  If you need a little further inspiration then just hop on over to our challenge blog, you know the other Tiddly Inkers have created truly spectacular projects.
