A Few Cards

Hi everyone, after a few weeks off for the holidays I am back with a few cards to share with you.  These cards were both given to my special guys on Christmas day but for completely different reasons.  Hubby and I always exchange cards on Christmas morning so this first one is for him.  In fact, one year I didn't make him a card and boy was I in trouble.  He wanted to know how I could make cards all the time but not make a Christmas card for him?!  Needless to say that will NEVER happen again, ever!

The image I used on his card is an older Tiddly Inks image, in fact I don't even think Christy has it in the store anymore, but it is one of my favorites.  The image is called, "You and me Baby".  Kind of the way I feel about my guy, ya know?!  I colored it up in holiday colors for this occasion.

The other Christmas Day card is for my little guy who just turned five years old and I just don't know how that happened?!  He was an unexpected Christmas baby and if you ask him Christmas is on his birthday, not the other way around.  For his card I used the Victoria Case image, Matthew.  This is another image that I have had for a while and I dug it out just for this card.  At this point I have soooo many stamps that I have to make sure I reuse the ones that I've used already.  I hate using a stamp just once.

Of course I used my copic markers to  color both of these images up and a few Spellbinder's dies and border punches.  The five was cut on my Black Cut cutter.  There are always other materials being used but these are the main ones.

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year!  I am looking for a little calm and peace this new year, wish me luck!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

MarkerPop - Penguin Joy

Good morning everyone! Today I am posting a project using the Whimsy Stamps image, Penguin Joy.  I made a 3D project with this image, a wooden cube that I am going to give to mother for Christmas.  She is a huge penguin fan and I thought she would love this image.  It's my first time working with this type of project so I am on a bit of a learning curve.  I definitely need to work on the corners of my project but overall not too bad for my first try.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Memory Box dies
Spellbinder's dies

Rhinestones/Pearls

Well, that's it for me.  I'm off to try and get some more holiday activities, I hope I can manage to get finished before Christmas.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidys!

Boitatou and a Little Winter

Hi everyone, are you ready for Christmas yet?  Me either!  I was doing so well back in October.  I started shopping, thought I could get it done slowly and December would be a breeze.  Hah!  All of sudden time is running out and I have more to do then I realized.  Where did all of that time go and how can I get it back?  We couldn't even get a two hour delay to the start of school this morning for just a little extra catch up time.  I guess it will be craziness and late nights from now until December 25.

Today's project is for Boitatou, has a winter/Christmas theme and uses the Saturated Canary image, Tree Topper.  It certainly makes you think about the start of winter and the upcoming Christmas holiday.  This is such a sweet image and speaks to the innocence of what the Christmas should be.  I am going to use the box to give a gift to a friend at work.  I'm thinking two gifts for the price of one!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS holiday embellishments
Spellbinder's die
Stickles
Glossy Accents
MS Snowflake Border Punch
White Acrylic Paint

I hope your holiday preparations are going a little smoother then mine.  Here's hoping for a white Christmas!
Enjoy your Thursday!

Have the most Wonderful and Blessed Tuesday everyone!

MarkerPop and CC Designs

Good morning everyone, T-G-I-F!  I hope you have plans to have a fabulous Friday.  I am of course off to work and then back home to get ready for a home sale I am having with my sister-in-law tomorrow.  She makes amazing jewelry and I of course will be trying to sell my cards.  They have accumulated quite a bit this year and I just haven't had the time to update my ETSY shop as I should.  I guess my New Year's resolution could be spending more time updating my shop and working on getting it ready for the New year.

Today I am sharing with you a project I made using the CC Designs image, Peace on Earth.  I used this image to make a hanging for our door for the upcoming holidays.  I just took down our Thanksgiving Decoration which actually spent more then a year with this spot for it's home.  I knew it was time for a change and this is what I came up with.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Border Punch
Memory Box Corner dies

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Anything Christmas

Well, Thanksgiving is over and the countdown to Christmas has begun.  It is going to be a whirlwind three weeks.  Just weeks ago I thought I was ahead of the game  and now, all of a sudden, I feel very far behind.  Good news is that we have our tree up and stockings hung so, of course the rest is now up to Santa, right!?  The lack of sleep and worry about getting everything done in time has begun.  Thank goodness we have two weeks off for Christmas vacation as I will need them to recuperate.

This week we have a new challenge for you at Tiddly Inks and it goes right along with our holiday season.  The challenge is Anything Christmas.  Christy has a lot of great images in the store that would be just perfect for this challenge.  I tried to think out of the box and create a window card with more than one layer and a little added dimension.  I accomplished some of the look I wanted but it didn't turn out to be quite the same as my original vision.  The images from Tiddly Inks I used on this card are Faythe Gives, Sweet Dreams Wryn and Christmas Mantle.

This is what the very front of the card looks like.  I made a window so you could see through to the fireplace on the final layer of the card.  I wanted to make it look like Faythe, aka Santa, was going into the house, right to the fireplace and the stockings.

The second layer of the card has Wryn reading in her Christmas pajamas.  For the window in this layer I wanted to make it look like Wryn was reading in front of the fireplace.

Then there is the final layer with just the fireplace itself.  I added one of Christy's books to the side of the fireplace.  I mean what's Christmas without a good story?

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Large Border Punch - presents
MS Small Border Punch - Ornaments
Self adhesive border
Pearls

I hope with this busy and crazy season you can take a few moments to play along with this week's challenge.  I always love making Christmas and holiday cards and I just can't wait too see what you create.  And, of course the other Tiddly Inks ladies on the DT have absolutely amazing and wonderful cards to inspire you.  I hope you can take a few moments to stop by the challenge blog and check them out.

Have an absolutely amazing Tuesday!

I Brake For Stamps - Pretty Winter Friends

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are staying warm now that the freezing cold winter weather has arrived.  It was so cold here yesterday that I finally had to drag out the heavy winter coat and wore one of my warmer winter sweaters.  Oh well, the best part of the cold is staying inside the warm house while the cold weather stays outside.  I guess that's why fall and spring have become my favorite seasons, not too warm and not too cold!

Today I am sharing and image with you using the I Brake from Stamps image, Pretty Winter Friends.  This is from the Chelsea Le Designs line of stamps and this cutie doesn't seem to shy away from the cold like I do.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Cheery Lynn Designs die
Memory Box die
Snowflake Embossing Folder
Tea Distress Ink Pad
Glossy Accents

Before I go I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  We are going to have a houseful and my son will have his cousins to play with.  We are also very excited to get a visit from my step-son and his girlfriend.  They arrive tomorrow and are staying until Sunday before they make their way back home.
Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone!

I Brake For Stamps - Winter Avie

I know, I know, I've put that dreadful word in my blog title, winter.  But, the cold air is here, Thanksgiving is little more then a week of way and we have to face the fact that we are going to have to brace ourselves for the cold, snow and wind.  Not my favorite types of weather but getting cozy in the warm house sounds like fun.  The winter and cold can have its benefits as well.

The cutie I used on my stamp today, Winter Avie, is really pretty versatile as it could be used throughout the winter, but seemed perfect for a Christmas card.  The stamp is from Chelsea Le Designs at I Brake for Stamps

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Decorative Circle Punch
MS Frond Punch
MS Rose Leaf Punch
Memory Box Circle Snowflake die
Wild Orchid Flowers

Well, since it is the season to be cold I hope everyone stays warm.  Enjoy your Tuesday!

MarkerPop - Creating Multiples

Good morning again everyone, I am back for my second post of the day.  One more and then a little rest from posting.  This time I am posting for MarkerPop Tips and Tricks Tuesday.  My tip of the day is how to create multiple cards that you want to look exactly the same without taking more time out of your day then you may have.  Christmas is slowly creeping up on us and I like to make as many Christmas presents as I can.  I feel like anyone can go out and buy a present but a handmade present is truly unique and shows that I put my time and energy into making a gift for the recipient.

So onto my tip.  When wanting to create several duplicate cards I scan my image after coloring and then print it out on the same paper I colored on, in my case cryogen white paper, and then create my multiple cards this way.  It takes me a long time to color an image and if I colored each image then they just wouldn't look the same and I'd never be able to make enough for those on my Christmas list.  For this card set I used the Elisabeth Bell image, September Rose.

There are a few things you should take note of when creating multiple cards this way.  First, I only scan my own colored image for personal use.  I always buy my uncolored images, rubber stamps, digital stamps, from the original artist and follow their angel policies.  Second, although I originally used copic markers reprinting my original on a computer is NEVER the same as coloring with my copic markers.  The shading and depth of color is always much better when I use my copic markers.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Fiskars Flower Punch
Pearls
Spellbinder's Grand Oval and Scalloped Oval dies

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Tiddly Inks and Carpenter Joe

Hi all, today is the beginning of a fairly busy day here at my blog.  Three posts in one day, cane you believe it, me either.  Every once in a little while all my DT projects come due on the same day.  Not completely terrible but a lot easier to manage when they are on different days.  Anyway, when you are done with this post stay tuned because there are more to come.

This time around I am sharing with you a card I made for our new Anything Goes challenge at Tiddly Inks.  The Tiddly Inks image I used on my card is the image, Carpenter Joe.  The card is for my dad's birthday.  I have such difficulty with male cards, I just can't seem to be as creative with them as some crafters are.  Something to work on, I know.

 Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Double Border Punch
Metal Embellishments

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

I Brake for Stamps - Cocoa Cammy

Despite a lot of whining on the part of the summer lovers of the world and Mother Nature keeping the cold at bay for a time it is finally starting to arrive.  Cold toes, chilly hands and also a little hot cocoa to help warm up those cool bits.  This image, Cocoa Cammy is all about keeping warm in the cold.  Hat, scarf, mittens and a little hot coca.  What could  a girl ask for this time of year, except maybe a few snuggles with hubby and the kids for a little added warmth.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS, double border punch, snowflakes
Memory Box Snowflake Background
Memory Box single snowflake die

Stay warm and enjoy your Tuesday everyone!

MarkerPop - Monday Inspiration

Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you a card using the Elisabeth Bell image Apple Blossom and Milkshake Baking.  Before I do I would like to say Happy Veteran's Day to all of those men and women in the armed forces who have chosen to serve their country to keep those of us who live here safe.  My dad, grandfather and several uncles are veterans and I am grateful to them for making that difficult choice.

Today is the Monday Inspiration post and MarkerPop and I know this image inspires me and makes me think about Thanksgiving, family and yummy food.  I am such a fan of Elisabeth Bell images and this one in particular fits our current season perfectly.
