Good morning and Happy 4th of July to all of us that live in the United States! How amazing to live in a country where freedom is celebrated and so many find the courage to defend our freedoms on a daily basis! For us we will be having a cookout at my parents with my sister's family. My brother and his family is away for the weekend and we will miss seeing them! Especially Spencer, he and my nephew have such a good time playing together. He will be happy to play with my niece though, and hopefully we will all have an enjoyable time.
For the cookout I made cupcakes for dessert. While traveling through Pinterest, yes, as you know I am ABSOLUTELY addicted, I found red, white and blue cupcakes. I thought I'd give them a try with my new favorite frosting recipe that I found, also on Pinterest. I even made hubby stop by JoAnns to pick up the good food coloring, you know, the gel food coloring that Wilton makes. That was fun as he had no idea what he was looking for, but we got it and the cupcakes have been made. Now, I'm going to share a few photos with you, but I should warn you that I'm not ALL that great at frosting cupcakes and they turned out to be pink, white and blue instead of red, white and blue. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, I added some food coloring to the batter as well and hopefully there will be a red or blue surprise inside each cupcake. Not perfect, I'm sure, but I am an amateur when it comes to baking. Paper crafts is definitely my first LOVE!
And I should warn you the pictures aren't all that wonderful, but you'll get the idea.
Here's just a slightly different view. Not perfect I know, but edible and hopefully everyone will enjoy them!
Happy independence Day everyone! I hope you enjoy your holiday and most of all your freedom to enjoy this day!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
