The Sweet Stop Sketch #222

Hi everyone, it's Saturday so that means we have a new sketch for you to play along with at The Sweet Stop.  This week is Sketch #222 and of course a great one!  This week I made a card that didn't use and image but a large rose instead.  I always feel so strange making a project without an image since I love coloring so much, but I thought that I could do a better job with this week's sketch without one.

Here's  a look at this week's sketch.

I put my flower where the sentiment should go.  I often leave sentiments off of my cards as I think it makes them more versatile for the occasions they can be used for, especially since I often make cards ahead of time but not always with a specific purpose in mind.

Materials Used:
MS Border Punch
SU Flower die
Spellbinder's Rose Creation die (for the leaves)

Today is chore day so I am off to run a bunch of errands, go grocery shopping and then the boys and I have appointments to get our hair cut.  Just a typical Saturday around here.  I hope you play along with our sketch this week and take some time to stop by the challenge blog to check out the cards created for you by the rest of the Sugar Babies.
Have a fabulous Saturday!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

  1. What pretty papers, Marlena, and that rose is simply gorgeous! Wonderful use of this week's sketch! I am amazed by all the different interpretations this fabulous team comes up with for the sketches each week! Hugs!

  2. So different from your other cards, Marlena - I love your colouring! Having said that, this card is gorgeous in its own right - the flower is so pretty being cut from the dp, and the background papers are fab. Hugs!

  3. Very pretty Marlena. The layered flower looks beautiful along with the prints on the papers.

  4. What a beautiful interpretation of this week's sketch! The flower and paper are beautiful!

  5. Wow, what a gorgeous card! I love that big beautiful flower.

  6. Very pretty, I love the colors on this card!
