I Brake For Stamps - Sledding Bearn

Hi everyone, how are you on this Tuesday?  We are moving along here, going about our day and getting ready to head out the door to work and school.  A typical Tuesday, no major excitement here, and we are happy with that.  Hubby and I could use a little down time, you know?  Life always seems more frantic and crazy than usual in the winter when you are cooped up in doors and have the same amount of work to accomplish, but in a shorter day.

Today I have a project for you using a rubber stamped image from I Brake For Stamps, Sledding Bear.  Although winter is starting to get to me I do love a cute winter image, and this one is no exception.  This bear looks like he is ready to go flying straight off his hill and having a fairly good time doing it!  Now, what kid wouldn't like an adventure like that in the winter.  Let's face it, what adult wouldn't like an adventure like that in the winter.  Well, maybe me, I like to watch winter from the inside and I do not enjoy going fast or high, ever!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
MS Snowflake punches
EK Success Snowflake Punch
Pearls
Bella's Baubles
Wild Orchid Flowers
Spellbinder's Label die

Here's a closer look at how I colored this fun loving bear.

The Sweet Stop Saturday

Good morning everyone, Happy Saturday to all of you!  I hope you are enjoying a little R&R after a this long and crazy work week.  My plans for the weekend, tons and tons of paperwork, I think I may get buried in it, LOL!  But although my weekend seems to be pre-planned for me I will be sure to sneak some crafty time in there somewhere, don't you worry!  I would certainly self-destruct without my crafty time!

Today we have another great sketch for you from The Sweet Stop.  I always love seeing all the different variations of projects everyone comes up with just by following one simple sketch.  Here's what our sketch for this week looks like.

AND, here's the card I came up with following this week's sketch.  For the image on my card this week I used a La La Land image, Christmas Lantern Marci.  This is the first La La Land image I've ever used and after finishing with it I am sure I will be getting more in the future.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Spellbinder's dies
Glossy Accents
MS Frond Punch
MS Double Border punch

Here's a closer look at my colored Marci.

Now it's your turn to play along.  I can't wait to see what you create from this week's sketch.  Looking for a little more inspiration?  Stop by the blog to see the fabulous projects created for you by the other Sweet Stop Sugar Babies!

I Brake For Stamps - Mother and Child

Hi everyone, I'm back on this Tuesday morning, this time with a post using an image from I Brake For Stamps.  The image is a little different then what I usually go for but when I saw it, I just had to have it.  Once I colored this image I was even more sure it was for me.  I think I may go back and some more of this style stamp really soon.

What stamp did I use, it's called Mother and Child Femme.  As I said, there are several other "Femmes" in the I Brake For Stamp store.   Of course, part of the draw of this particular image was the mother and child theme.  I also decided to make something different then a card and made a box instead.  I was inspired by a box I saw on Pinterest, my all time favorite site, and that's how this project came about.

I used some heat embossing on this one, including around the outside edges of my box.  Hooray for a Versa Mark pen that I bought some time ago and hardly used.  It's funny how keeping those things around can come in handy.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Glossy Accents
Spellbinder's Flourish die
Heat embossing powder
Unity KOM sentiment stamp

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Wings

Good morning my crafty friends, how are you on this Tuesday morning?  For us around here it is down right freezing.  I thought it was cold at the end of last week, this week is much worse.  No outside recess for my kids this week, which means a lot of very rambunctious kindergartners.  This is about the time of year that I slowly get tired of winter and start wishing for the warmer days to come.  I'm not quite there, I like a little chill still, but talk to me in the middle of February, I'm sure I will have changed my mind by then.

This week at Tiddly Inks we have a new challenge for you, Wings.  Make a project using an image from Tiddly Inks that has wings.  Christy has so many great images in this category, it was hard to choose my favorite, but I did.  For my project this week I chose one of the Fairy Fae images,  Fairy Fae Smiles. I have always loved Fairy Fae, she is one of my many Tiddly Inks favorites.

I decided to make a side step card for my project this week.  I even played around with the dimensions a little so when this card is folded up it is 5x5 inches square.  Let me tell you, I had a lot of trial and error with this one but I am happy with the end result.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Crystal Stickels
Unity KOM sentiment stamps
Cheery Lynn dies
MS punches
EK Butterfly Punch
Spellbinder's dies
Pearls

Here's a closer look at my colored fairy.

Now it's your turn, find your favorite Tiddly Inks image with wings and create a project for our challenge.  Link it up when your finished to enter, you have two weeks to work on your project.

As for inspiration, of course the rest of the Tiddly Inks DT can give you that.  Their fabulous projects can be found at the challenge blog, I hope you can stop by to check them out!

The Sweet Stop

Good morning everyone!  How are you on this chilly Saturday?  The winter cold has finally arrived here in the northeast U.S. and we are feeling the chill.  I can't complain though, a good chill in the air is always a good reason to snuggle up for a comfy day of relaxing.  Let's see if I can find one of those anywhere in the near future.

Since it's Saturday that means we have a new sketch for you to play along with at The Sweet Stop challenge blog.  Our sketch for this week is below.

This week we have a "spin" for you as well, snowman.  Use a snowman in your project this week and then link it up to our blog.  For my "spin" I used the Saturated Canary image, Snowman.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's dies
Tiddly Inks sentiment
Jewels
Wild Orchid flowers
Grossgrain ribbon
Crystal Stickles
Glossy accents

Tiddly Inks Fabulous Friday

Hello everyone, TGIF!  Aren't you glad it's Friday?! We don't have anything special planned for the weekend, which is nice.  A little R&R would be welcome right about now.  Although, I can't really complain, we had a snow day on Wednesday and I was able to accomplish so much around the house that I wouldn't have gotten done without that extra day.  I was even able to organize my craft space a little, not as much as I would have liked, but I was at least able to put some of my newer stamps and dies away.

Today I am sharing with you a project I made using the Tiddly Inks image, Little Miss Sunshine.  Every other Friday at Tiddly Inks we create a project to be highlighted on the challenge blog.  The other Tiddly Inkers have created projects to share as well.  I hope you can stop on by to see their fabulous projects!

Materials I Used on My Projects:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Magnolia Doohickey die
Black Cat Cougar Cutter
Spellbinder's dies
Metal Butterfly Embellishments

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope you can stop by the challenge blog to see the projects by the other Tiddly Inkers.  Maybe you'll decide to play along with our current challenge while you are there.

I Brake For Stamps and Wax Paper

Yes, you are reading the title correctly, I wrote wax paper.  Why, because a dilemma I've been having with my metal dies, specifically my Spellbinder's dies, has recently been corrected with nothing other than wax paper.  Now, as you read on you may be saying to yourself, well, duh, didn't you know that.  But, I didn't and a lot of great pieces of my paper have gone to the paper graveyard in the sky because I didn't previously have this knowledge.

Sooooo, what I am talking about.  Well, my favorite dies are the more intricate ones with the flourishes or filigree edges and borders.  When I use my Cheery Lynn dies I just followed the directions on the packaging and poof, the cut papers came out fairly easily.  Not so with my Spellbinder's dies, I couldn't find any directions on the more intricate dies and whenever I used them I would ALWAYS rip the paper.  I tried so many different things to get the papers to come out without ripping and I JUST COULDN'T DO IT.  Seriously, it was driving me CRAZY!  Here's the funny part, just as I decide I'm going to post a question on several of my Facebook groups to find out what I was doing wrong a Spellbinder's link is posted and I  happen to click on it.  AND, what is on the link, a reminder to use wax paper when cutting with their more intricate dies.  REALLY, it's that simple.  Get some wax paper, put the paper you want to cut underneath and you have a great die cut every time.  Soooooo, of course I tried, would it really work.  OF COURSE it works, a duh!!!!!!  It is now so simple, I don't rip the papers and the dies work great.  WHERE HAS THIS INFORMATION BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!  Now I'm happy to play with ALL my dies, intricate corners or not.

Now onto to I Brake for Stamps part of today's post.  My project uses Kisses Cammy, a new stamp that you can find at I Brake for Stamps.  There were three different Cammy's released recently, the other two are Heart Cammy and Cupid Cammy, all three perfect images for Valentine's Day.  I decided to make a tri-fold card, I tend to get bored making the same shape card all of the time so when I can I try to do something just a little bit different.  What I forgot though was how long it takes to complete a tri-fold card.  I was quite pleased when I was finished though and you can see the final results below.

When you open the front of the card you then see the inside flap.  I used a sentiment stamp from one of the Kit of The Month sets from Unity Stamp Company.

This is all three panels on the inside of the card.  The left panel holds an a gift tag as an additional little twist to the card.

I also took a picture with the tag sitting against the card so you could get a view of what the tag looks like on it's own.

Here's a back view of the card.  The inside panel is of course just the back of the card itself.

I Brake For Stamps - Tea Angel

Hello everyone, I am  back for a second time today.  I feel like I am finally starting to get things under control, especially since this is my first day with two posts in quite some time.  It's also my second post as a member of the I Brake For Stamps design team.  I guess it's a day of second's all around.

For my project today I Used the I Brake For Stamps digital image, Tea Angel.  My grandmother is a tea pot collector and whenever I see an image that has tea pots, cups or saucers I always think about her.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's label die
Wild orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
SU scalloped border punch
Pearls

My scallop is a little off on the one end.  That one little scallop just wouldn't cut correctly, ugh!  I trimmed it and added it anyway.  I was  hoping it wasn't really that noticeable, now I'm not so sure.  Oh well, what's a girl to do.

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Anything Goes

Good morning everyone!  I am so excited to be posting my projects for Tiddly Inks again.  We had a lot going on in December, like a lot of people, so I wasn't able to participate in the challenge that month.  Plus, the Tiddly Inks challenges took a little holiday break as well, so I feel like I have been missing my Tiddly Inks projects FOREVER!  Now we are both back and raring to go!

For our first challenge of the new year we have Anything Goes with a Tiddly Inks image.  This is also one of my favorite challenge themes, you really can't go wrong when you can create just about anything.  For my project this week I used one of Christy's newer images, Faythe.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's oval dies
MS double border punch
MS Frond Punch
Wild orchid Flowers
Pearls

He's a closer look at this colored cutie.

So now it's your turn, create your project using one of your favorite Tiddly Inks images and link it up to our challenge blog to play along.  And remember, the other Tiddly Inkers have created projects for you as well and they are absolutely stunning.  I hope you can at least take some time to stop by the challenge blog to check them out.

Creative Every Day

Hi everyone, Happy Monday evening.  I've started an interesting and new adventure, we shall see how it works out.  I found this challenge blog that simply challenges you to be Creative Every Day.  There isn't any criteria on your creativity, you can write, draw, paint, whatever you desire and then on Monday link up what you have done to be creative for the week.  I can't say I've looked thoroughly at how the other participants are handling their posts, so mine may change as the year progresses.  I'm a pretty linear girl and I tend to follow what I think the directions seem to be, so I am simply going to tell you what I have been up to for the last week and how I have managed to be creative.

To start, I have colored in many stamped images using my copic markers, which many of you know are my absolute favorite!  Then I've taken many of these images and turned them into cards.  Another one of my favorite past times.  My new adventure for the year is really taking the time to work on some of my own personal journaling.  I have tried to write for at least 10 minutes almost daily, although the last few days I haven't been able to get to it.  I also want to continue to work on my art journaling.  This week I created the background for a page and have been slowly adding elements as time allows.  Finally, I have been playing around with doodling and drawing, another one of my current hobbies.

I know, I know, I have a very eclectic list of creative activities.  That's just how I am, paper crafting and coloring is my absolute favorite, but I really enjoy playing around with many different areas of creativity.

I don't have many pictures for you today of what I have done but I am going to leave you with a picture of my little guys birthday card that I did make this weekend.  He is currently a huge Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear fan so I put this together for him.  Male cards are always so hard to make and since he just turned four I don't think he cares about anything more than his personal favorites.

There you have it, Woody, Buzz and Jesse, his absolute favorites.
