I Brake For Stamps - Digi Rose

Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday!  How are you doing on this second work day of the week?  Yesterday felt so much like spring around here, I could hardly believe it.  It's not that the weather was extra warm or sunny, but I just felt like spring was in the air, you know what I mean.  Our temperature was in the mid 40's and was nice and calm.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look that way for the rest of the week so I better enjoy what I can get.

Today I made a project for you using a digital stamp from I Brake From Stamps, Rose.  This image is perfect for the spring fever that I am starting to have as it reminds me of all the beautiful flowers we see when the warm weather appears.  Today's card is a birthday card which we gave to my mother-in-law.

Materials I used on my Project:
Copic Markers
Cheery Lynn flourish die
Spellbinder's Oval and Classic Oval die
SU sentiment stamp
Pearls

Here's a closer look at the colored rose.

Addicted to Pinterest

Good morning everyone!  Happy Monday, it sure did come back quickly didn't it?  If only Monday wasn't such a dreaded day it.  I can't complain though as I was able to catch up on some cleaning at home during my week off of school.

Today I am going to share with you my addiction to Pinterest.  Yes, I am a Pinterst addict.  I just can't seem to stay away from that site.  If you can then you are a bigger person then I am.  I can't tell you how much I love finding and using the ideas I find on Pinterest, and that goes for today's project as well.  I originally pinned a very similar project in the hopes of recreating it to some degree, and I did.  It's a trifold note paper holder that I patterned after the project that I pinned.  I created the dimensions for this one myself so if you would like to try this project on your own feel free to use the dimensions below to create it.

For the front of my project I used the Sarah Kay image, Best Friends Forever.  Below is what the front of the project looks like when it is all closed up.  There is even a clasp to hold it closed on the front left hand side.

When you open up the front flaps you'll see two decorated and embellished post it note pads and a mini notepad that I had to cut down to fit the size of my holder.

Materials I Used on My Project:
MS Large Border Punch
Fiskars flower punches
Pearls
Clasp
Spellbinser's Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
Brads

Here's a closer look at what these friends look like colored with my copic markers.

MarkerPop - Tuesday Tips and Tricks

Hi everyone, I'm back again for my third post today.  I can hardly believe that I've managed to get three posts into one day.  Thanks goodness for winter break or I don't think I could have done it.  This time I am bringing you a post using products from Marker Pop and a "tip" I posted on the Marker Pop blog today.  This tip involves shading an image and how I go about putting my shadows and highlights in my image.  I have a very difficult time "seeing" from which direction the light is hitting an image.  No matter how I try I just can't seem to see the shadows in their entirety when I begin coloring.  In order to put shadows in my coloring I start with a small part of the image at a time.  I find where the shadows are obvious and then I begin coloring there.

In this case I was coloring a Magnolia image, Tilda with Peanut.  Her head is tilted so I could tell where I should place the shadows, so I began there.

From here I went to the hair, which always has so many shadows and highlights.  When I color the hair I always color a small section at a time so I can see where each shadow lies.

Then each section kind of falls together and the finished product is what I have.

After that the image gets put onto my project and here is what I came up with this time.  I was bored with my normal square card, looking for something different and this card is what I came up with.  It was a lot of experimenting, looking for inspiration and playing around with some fun new products.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Spellbinder's dies
Metal Flower Embellishment

Well, that's it for me today.

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Tiddly Critters

Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday.  Day two of winter break and I am taking some real time to rest and recoup some energy that has just about been drained over the last few months.  It's been fun spending time with my little one, a.k.a "Spencer Buzz".  Can you tell what his favorite movie is, at least one of his favorite movies.  Right now we are watching Toy Story, The polar Express and Wall-E.  That's in between playing with his trains and cars and legos.  It's been an adventure, one I wouldn't miss for the world!

Today we have a new challenge for you over at Tiddly Inks.  This time around our challenge is Tiddly Critters.  Find your favorite Tiddly Inks image with a "critter", create a project and then link it up to our challenge.  For my critter project today I used the Tiddly Inks image, Wryn and Mo - Love you Most.

Saturated Canary - Hugs and Kisses

It's Friday evening and what are we doing, vegging in the living room watching Thomas the Train.  Whose video choice was that you ask?  My four year old son of course, whose current fascination is with trains!  We have watched The Polar Express more times than I care to count.  He is so glued to the T.V. I think he might turn into a Thomas the Train zombie!

As for my post for this evening I am posting a card using a Saturated Canary image, Hugs and Kisses.  I was lucky enough to get this image when it was freebie but now you can find it in the Saturated Canary store.

I Brake For Stamps - Birdhouses and Vines

Hi everyone!  How's it going for you today?  We survived the weekend storm with only about 8 inches of snow.  I am grateful for the reprieve, but am thinking about those who had to dig out from several feet of snow.  I hope that things are starting to get back to normal for them and that power has been restored to everyone who has had to manage without it.  It is much too cold this time of year to be living without power or heat.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the rubber stamp, Birdhouses and Vines, from I Brake for Stamps.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Glossy Accents
Cheery Lynn large Flourish die
Spellbinder's Label die
MS Frond Punch
MS Double Edge Border Punch
Wild Orchid Flowers
SU Bashful Blue stamp pad

Here's a closer look at my colored image.

These birdhouses are such a great trio, don't you think?!  The only thing missing from this image are the squirrels that are always climbing all over any bird feeders or houses.

The Sweet Stop

Good morning everyone!  How are you on this Saturday!  If the meteorologists were correct then I am waking up to 1-2 feet of snow.  As I am pre-posting this I am not sure of the amount of snow we actually received.  They closed many schools here in the northeast today(Friday), but as of yet we have only had a very light amount of snow.  My favorite part of snow, although what they are forecasting sure is more than a lot, is not being able to go anywhere.  Roads are messy, the officials say to stay off o them, I am happy to oblige and stay indoors.  Preferably in my craft room for the day, although my 4 year old may have something to say about that!

Since it's Saturday we have a new sketch for you to play along with at The Sweet Stop.  Here's our new sketch for the week.

AND, here's my project to go along with this week's sketch.

No Copic Markers this week, can you believe it, me either!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my colored images but this sketch called out for something different, so I used a set of my UNITY kit of the month stamps.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Unity Kit of the month stamps
MS Butterfly Punch
MS border punch
Gross grain ribbon
Recollections Glitter embellishments
Pearls

That's it for me today, I'm off.  At this moment I 'm probably watching hubby shovel the enormous amount of snow outside our door.  Yes, that's right, I am watching.  He has spoiled me and I am no longer used to going out an shoveling, he's such a good guy!

I hope you can play along with our sketch this week.  Please take the time to stop by and see what beautiful projects the other Sugar Babies have created for you!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
