The Sweet Stop Sketch #204

Hiya everyone, can you believe that Easter is here already?  Doesn't it seem like the New Year was just yesterday instead of three months ago?  Time flies when you're having fun!  What fun have I been having, well crafting of course, how about you?!  Which brings me to my post for today.  We have a new sketch for you over at The Sweet Stop.  For my project today I used a Sweet & Sassy digi stamp just perfect for Easter, Old Rugged Cross.

Here's this week's sketch you have to play with.

AND, here's my take on this week's sketch.

For me, simple crosses are what the Easter season is all about.  I love the Easter egg hunts and the Easter baskets full of goodies for the kids, but Easter is all about the cross and what happened on it so long ago.

I hope you all have the most wonderful and Blessed of Easters!  Enjoy your time with your family and your Sunday!  Don't forget to check out the fabulous projects created by the rest of the Sugar Babies!

Tiddly Inks Fabulous Friday

Friday, Hooray!  Happy Friday to all of you!  The end of a work week and the beginning of a holiday weekend, what else could a girl ask for?  Nice weather, well they are predicting the warmest weather we have had yet for Easter, so there you go.  Easter is one of my favorite holidays on the church calendar.  I find it so awe inspiring, miraculous and frankly humbling.  It makes me thankful to be able to continue to live my life, no matter how difficult it may seem at times!

Today I am sharing a project using a Tiddly Inks image.    I always have such a hard time deciding which image to use on my projects because I simply love them all!  But, decide I did and my project today uses the image, Magda.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Cheerly Lynn die
Spellbinder's die

Wishing you all a fabulous Friday and the most Blessed of Easters!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

LaLa Land - Marci with Flower Pot

Good morning, Happy almost Easter!  Although I prefer Easter to be a few weeks later, a nice sunny April day is always good for Easter Sunday.  Having Easter early brings back memories as well.  In fact, I know that 16 years ago Easter was also on March 31.  How do I know this, well because my baby girl was only a week and a half old at the time.  You know how you remember a lot of what happens in that first year, well this is as vivid as it was yesterday.  Which it wasn't since my darling daughter just recently turned 16 years old, I don't know how that happened!  Trust me though, she has being a teenager down pat!  The fun, the fun!

For the card I am sharing today I used the La La Land image, Marci with Flower Pot.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers ( for a complete list of the markers I used click HERE)
MS Border Punch
Spellbinder's Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
Spellbinder's Leaf die
Fiskars Large and Small Flower Punch
Circle Punches
Pearls

I Brake For Stamps - Cammy in the Wind

Wind is certainly the weather of the moment up here in northeast New York.  March is notoriously windy and I am hoping that this crazy wind will usher in some warmer and sunnier weather.  I have had enough of old man winter and am grateful that the current winter storm decided to stay to our south.  The weather person on our local news is currently forecasting 50 degrees for Easter, and I hope she is true to her word, because that will certainly be a nice change of pace to what we are currently dealing with!

On my card today I am using an I Brake For Stamps image.  It is a Chelsea Le Designs image and is called Cammy in the Wind.  I used yellows and oranges on my project this time around.  Since I create several projects a week I try to vary the colors whenever I can.  I'm not always successful doing this but I try.  I'm a girl who likes a little variety!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Pearls
MS Frond Punch
Spellbinder's Classic Oval and Scalloped oval punches
Diamond Stickles

The Sweet Stop Sketch #203

Hi everyone, can you believe it's Saturday again!  It seems like I was just typing last week's post for our sketch challenge!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining!  I LOVE when Saturday decides to arrive a little faster than usual, I just can't believe how fast this week has gone!

Today we have a fabulous new sketch for you at The Sweet Stop.  For my take on this sketch I Used the Saturated Canary image, Hairy Situation.  This little cutie has the best set of long hair!  She reminds me a little of my daughter at this age so I gave her a red tint to her hair.

First, let's look at today's sketch.

And now, a look at my card using this sketch.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS border Punch
MS Frond Punch
Susanaments Sentiment stamp

Think Spring!

It's hard to believe that today is the first day of spring, especially after the weather we had here in the northeast yesterday.  It was a cold, wet and miserable day with schools delaying and closing all over the place.  Now that spring has officially arrived it is time for winter to go visit another part of the world while we allow the warm weather and sun visit us for a little while.  Well, if we're lucky it will be for more than a little while.  To help inspire spring to show up for a prolonged visit I have made today's card using the Magnolia image, Tilda with Big Tulip Pot.  Tulips are such a welcome sign of spring and I hope this card is as well.  I am going to use this card as an Easter card, especially since tulips are often the perfect Easter gift.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers (click HERE for a complete list of colors used)
LaLa Land Heart Fence die
Spellbinder's dies
Wild Orchid Flowers
Pearls

I give Tilda credit, that is a HUGE pot she is carrying and then I have her climbing over the fence as well!  What a trooper she is!

Lilies

It's hard to think about lilies right now with the miserable weather we have here.  Cold, snow, ice, these aren't the first things you think about when you think flowers, Easter and lilies.  Despite this miserable weather I have an Easter card to share with you using the I Brake For Stamps image, Lilies.

Materials I Used For My Project:
Copic Markers
SU Sentiment Stamp
Pearls
MS Border Punch
Sizziz Embossing Folder

For my project today I made an Easter gift bag for my niece.  I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews so this is the first of many gift bags to come.  I need to get working since Easter is only a week and a half away.  For my project I used the Tiddly Inks image, Bunny Q.

Materials I Used on My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
Spellbinder's Classic Circle and Scalloped Cirlce dies
Ribbon
EK Success Border Punch

Here's a different angle of my gift bag.  From this angle you can see the border punch I used on the handle.

The Sweet Stop Sketch #202

Saturday.  At last!  I really thought it would never get here.  I can't say I had a terrible week because, well, I really didn't.  But, it was a long one!  Work, family, crafts, blog hops, St. Patrick's Day in KINDERGARTEN, all the things that make Friday seem so wonderful and Saturday just plain amazing!  Spring showed up for a few days and then winter decided that it wanted to stick around for a little while longer.  Brrrr, cold and wind the last two days have made me want to just curl up in my PJ's and snuggle with the family.  That's what I am going to do this weekend before that dreaded Monday rears it's ugly head again!

Since Saturday is here we have a new sketch for you at The Sweet Stop.  This week we are on sketch #202 and it is just as fabulous as all of the rest!  Here is a look at the sketch we had to play with this week!  We also have a SPIN with our sketch, springtime!  What a great spin with winter dragging it's heels and us just waiting for spring to arrive!

For my card I used the Saturated Canary image, Easter Dress.  Since we were using spring images I took this opportunity to work on an Easter card.

I'm off to enjoy some family time and get groceries so the family doesn't starve!  Don't forget to check out the other projects created by the rest of the Sugar Babies!  I hope you do, they sure are amazing!

Good morning all, it's blog hop time!  Christy from Tiddly Inks and Zoe from Make It Crafty have gotten together to create the most amazing of images and we have a fabulous blog hop to share them all with you!  You will be in love when you see the new images and we have created many projects to showcase them all!

Blog Hops can always be a little tricky so we are going to keep it simple for all of you!  The blog hop will take place from one post, and not from blog to blog, so you can click HERE to start hopping!  To make it work we suggest opening each link in a new window which you can do by clicking CTRL and the link you wish to visit.  Then you will have the new window to view that person's blog and projects.  Simple enough, right?!  This way, you can easily navigate between each blog in the hop and return to the main page when you are ready to go to the next blog.

Enough chatter from me, here are the projects I created using images from each company!

This card uses Jackie and Jackal from Tiddly Inks and Hieroglyphic Wall from Make It Crafty.

This project uses the Make It Crafty Image Tangles.

There are so many more amazing images from each company and so many more fabulous projects for you to check out in our blog hop!  I hop you keep hopping along to see them all!  To see all the new images together click HERE for the Tiddly Inks images and HERE for the Make It Crafty images!

Cupcakes!

I have cupcakes on the brain lately.  This is all thanks to Pinterest and the million of yummy cupcakes they have ALL OVER every one's pins.  I am not a baker by any means, but I like to play around with yummy recipes every now and then.  What I am mostly looking for is a good frosting recipe.  I hate frostings that are overly sweet, which is the kind my mother has always made.  I am always on the look out for a new recipe, so I have been making my share of cupcakes lately.  Trust me, my family doesn't mind!  Besides, I was also intrigued by how their frosting always looked SO perfect and pulled out a Pampered Chef pastry tool I have never used and HEY, what do you know, half way decent looking cupcakes.  Now, they aren't as perfect as the pictures, but they look much better then when you use the Betty Crocker frosting and a butter knife!

Why all this talk of cupcakes.  Well, for two reasons.  First my baby, my first born is going to be 16 next week.  I don't know how that happened!  It was definitely just yesterday that I was pushing her around in her stroller waiting for her to crawl, walk and accomplish all those other baby milestones.  I swear, I blinked and she is almost 16!  We are going to have a small family party for her birthday and I want to make it special so I have been working on the right combination of decorations and food!  Cupcakes are going to be one of the items on the menu.  But, what if someone wants to take a cupcake home with them.  Well, this is what I am sharing with you today, a cupcake box.  I think cupcake boxes are such a great idea!  Why, because no more eating half squished frostingless cupcakes that you bring home from a party.  Now you can eat the real deal and have it look and taste yummy!

Materials I Used on My Project:
Elisabeth Bell Polly Picnic Stamp
Copic Markers ( see the complete list of colors HERE)
EK Success Border Punch
Glossy Accents
Recollections embellishments

I wanted to make sure my cupcake doesn't slide around in my box, so I even made the insert the keep the cupcake in place like they do in the REAL cupcake boxes.

Well, that's my 3D fun for the day!  I'm excited over the way it came out and hope to try and make a few for my daughter's party.  We shall see, my ideas are always bigger then the time I have available!

Butterflies

I Love butterflies.  I really do.  They are so simple, elegant and beautiful all at the same time.  Butterflies seem to live a care free life yet have such a complex way of coming into existence.  How does one small caterpillar, sometimes a very ugly caterpillar, become such an amazingly beautiful butterfly?  Have you ever seen the process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.  I have, it's amazing.  Our kindergarten class in school watched it happen once.  They arrive as these little caterpillars, you would barely notice them if you were out in nature.  Then they eat the food that is sent to you and they become enormous, or at least much bigger then they were.  And, all of a sudden, out of nowhere these huge caterpillars crawl to the top of the container you have them in,  and miraculously form this almost indestructible chrysalis.  They use a very tiny amount of glue to hang from the top of the container.  Of course, out in the real world they would be hanging from a tree.  Did you know that the bond is so strong that the wind doesn't blow them down?  I think it is more likely for the tree to fall down then the chrysalis to fall off.  What happens in that chrysalis is nothing short of a miracle.  One day this absolutely transformed butterfly comes out.  They are almost like chicks, and live babies, as they are wet and their wings need to dry before they can fly.  But when they do it is all beauty and one of nature's most amazing miracles.

Creating with butterflies helps me bring a little bit of nature into our world.  Sometimes the simple beauty of a butterfly can erase the chaos of a crazy day.  Maybe we should take a hint from the butterflies and make our lives much simpler.  Of course, their life span is much, much shorter than ours, but their is still something to be learned from the simple beauty in nature.  Why all this talk of the butterfly?  My project today has a butterfly on it and it inspired me to share my love of them with you.  My stamp is from I Brake For Stamps and is the rubber stamp, Blossom Fairy Cammy.

Materials I Used For My Project:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Stickles
EK Success and MS Butterfly Punches
MS Frond Punch
Glossy Accents
Spellbinder's dies
Cheery Lynn dies

Here's a closer look at my colored fairy.  Spring colors this time.  Spring is in the air, especially with daylight savings time being over.  I am LOVING all the extra light at the end of the day.  I'll be seeing those real butterflies flying around before you know it!
