Boitatou - My Prince

Hi everyone, I'm back again, this time sharing a project I made using a Boitatou and an the Elisabeth Bell image, My Prince.  I used my Boitaou box to hold my card and I put a window in the Boitaou so you could get a sneak peak at the card inside.  The box was embellished to correspond to the card.

You can see a little of our princess inside, but who is her prince?  You'll need to open the box to find out and you may be a little surprised when you do.

Yup, that's right, her prince is a frog.  I love this image, it is so adorable and using the window in the Boitatou helps keep the secret of who her prince really is.  Here's what the Boitatou and card look like side by side.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Cheerly Lynn Small Flourish die
Spellbinder's dies
MS Frond Punch
Pearls

Every little girl should have the chance to be a princess for the day, don't you think?  For that matter, every big girl should as well!  I hope you get the chance to be a princess!
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

I Brake For Stamps - Country Cutie Boy

Good morning everyone!  Happy LAST Tuesday in July!  Yup, that's right, it's the last Tuesday in July!  It's hard to believe that summer is basically half over!  It sure is flying by, before we know it the cool air will be here and the leaves will be changing color.  I plan to enjoy every minute I have left of the summer before the school year begins again!

As it is Tuesday I am sharing a card using an I Brake For Stamps image.  This week's image is Country Cutie Boy, and it really is.  Since we have a lot of farms around us and they are all in full bloom and gearing up for sweet corn season to begin, I was partial to this image.  Today's card is a little more CAS then I normally do, but I think it fit perfectly for this image.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Border Punch
Pearls

The Sweet Stop Sketch #221

Good morning everyone on this beautiful Saturday!  Another week of summer down, boo, but at least it wasn't so miserable to move around and enjoy as the cooler weather decided to drop by for a little while.  A little too cool, if you ask me, but much better then the yucky heat that we were having.  A big thank you to Mother Nature, I'll take it.  Just in time to for a family reunion I am going to this weekend for my mother's side of the family.  It's been a long time since I have seen many of my relatives with us all getting older and having families of our own.  It will be nice to catch up with them and spend a little time together.  Even nicer is that we don't have to travel to far from our own home to go so we won't have to spend a long time in the car.  A short ride is always so much nicer then a longer one!

Today at The Sweet Stop we have a new sketch to share with you.  This week we are on Sketch #221 and of course it is just wonderful.  For my card this week I used the Saturated Canary image, Olympics.  I used a lot of orange on this card as it is my niece's favorite color and I am going to give her this card in a few weeks for her birthday.

Here's our sketch.

And now my take on our sketch.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
MS Border Punch
Glossy Accents
Prima Flowers
Magnolia Doohickey die

Well, I'm off to get ready for the reunion, I hope you can join us this week.  Also, stop on by the challenge blog to see the fabulous projects created for you by the rest of the Sugar Babies.

I'm off to have lunch with my hubby.  Just the two of us.  Then an afternoon with the little guy and deciding what to bring for a family reunion I have tomorrow.  I have no idea what to bring, hopefully I'll figure it out before I go.

I Brake For Stamps - Flower Fairy

Hi everyone, I'm back for my second post of the day.  This time I am posting a  card using an image from I Brake For Stamps, Flower Fairy.  Although I like the results of today's project this stamp was a little different then the images I ordinarily color.  It's a Rick St. Dennis image and it had a lot of little areas that needed to be colored.  I felt like I was completing a puzzle and having a hard time fitting in some of the pieces.  With that being said I am glad that I went for this image and am quite surprised, but pleased, with the results.

I usually add glitter to my fairy wings but there was something about this fairy that I thought it would look better without the glitter.  Maybe because she is more adult looking then childlike.  I'm not really sure but whatever the reason here she is, glitter free!

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Cheery Lynn Flourish die
MS Border die
SU Certainly Celery Stamp Pad

Now this really is it for me today.  Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, I hope you can take a few moments out of your day to just breathe.

Tiddly Inks - Treats of Summer

Hi everyone, how is your summer going so far?  I feel like it is flying by, of course, but I've had a lot of time to enjoy the family and just being at home.  I've started to catch up on things around the house that always get put off during the school year and getting these things done feels great!  It helps relieve some of the anxiety and stress that hang over me during the school year.  Better than this though has been spending time with my family, especially in our pool.  We go out and swim around for a little while and then take a few moments to sit on our deck when we are finished.  We have the most magical view and it is so relaxing just to take a few moments to enjoy what we have.  Last night I sat out a little longer by myself and listened to the birds, watched the turtles and fish jump out of our pond and mostly just took a moment to breathe.  These moments are far and few between in this crazy world we lived in and taking them in reminds me of how beautiful the world can really be.

Speaking of summer leads me to our challenge at Tiddly Inks today, Treats of Summer.  To me just being able to enjoy the summer is a treat.  I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with the kids and enjoy those moments that would otherwise be missed if I had to work during the summer as well.  I hope some day they grow up and say, Remember when mom did......"  Keeping this in mind I used the Wryn image, Beach Babe on my project today.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Grand Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
CM Square Punch
SU Circle Punch
Wild Honey Distress Ink Pad

I hope you can join us in our challenge this time around.  If you do don't forget to use a Tiddly Inks image, Christy has a lot of summer cuties that are just perfect for this week's challenge.  Just stop by the challenge blog and you'll see some examples on the fabulous cards made by the rest of the Tiddly Inks DT.

Have a Great Tuesday!

The Sweet Stop Sketch #220 - Sketch with a Spin

Good morning everyone, happy weekend!  Another week of summer has flown by, of course this week it flew by with a miserable heat wave.  Each day of the week got hotter then the next and I am surprised we haven't melted from it yet.  Yesterday I took some time to do a little shopping, mostly craft shopping, and I think everyone else did the same.  It was even a little to hot to go swimming, the air quality was pretty bad, so I guess retail therapy was the way to beat the heat.  The stores were so crowded and I am not a fan of crowded store shopping.  But I got what I needed, and then some, which is always good when going shopping, so my trip was successful.

Today we have a new sketch for you at The Sweet Stop, Sketch #220 and this time it is a sketch with a spin.  The spin is to use doilies, which is great for the current sketch as it uses circles.  Take a look below and you will see what I mean.

For the image on my sketch this week I used a Little Miss Muffet Digital Stamp, Polka Dot Pals, Heidi.  I used a Cheery Lynn Design die for my doily "spin", the Kiwi Spirit Doily die.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Cherry Lynn Die
Spellbinder's dies
Stickles
Wild Orchid and Prima Flowers
EK Success Border die

Now it's your turn to play along.  Follow our sketch, don't forget our spin of using a doily this week, and then link it up at our challenge blog.  The other Sugar Babies have created the most fabulous projects to inspire you!
Have a great day!

Tiddly Inks - Fabulous Inky Friday

I love art journaling.  At least, I love looking at other peoples art journals.  Okay, let me be more specific, I love art journaling myself but think that I have a lot to learn about this mixed media style of art.  There are so many amazing artists out there that make art journaling look like so incredibly simple.  And, well, it has it's simple moments but there are so many different ways to go about making an art journal it makes my head spin!  Also, time is always a factor, there just never seems to be enough of it.  My goal for this summer is to make a few journals, give most of the pages a base coat of paint, or whatever medium I choose to use, so that when I FIND the time I can complete a page.  I've always used journals(i.e.writing) at times when I wanted to express myself but didn't want to actually have a conversation with anyone.  I'm hopeful that art journaling can be a more constant way to express ideas, thoughts andfeelings.  With the world so crazy these days I sure could use a creative outlet for all those things that make you go hmmmm.  Here's the funny part though, I was sooooo intimidated with art journaling at the beginning.  Still intimidated but loving it all the same!

WHY am I going on and on about art journaling?  Well, because today I am sharing with you an art journal entry I made into on of my journals using the Tiddly Inks image, Hippie Chick.  This is a page that I painted months ago but never did get the chance to finish, until now.

Although I don't believe that things can ever truly be perfect I am definitely a perfectionist.  I think this saying is just perfect for me!

I'll leave you with this close up of what I think the most important part of today's spread is.  A little different then my usual projects, but I like it!

MarkerPop - Stamping Bella, Bianca Loves Her Big Cake

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are staying cool on this VERY HOT Thursday.  We are trying to but, phew, it sure is hard.  My little guy is enjoying playing in the pool and then coming inside and watching his favorite videos.  I am enjoying taking a little extra time to spend on my craft projects.  My daughter, well she is a teenager and stays cooped up in her room most of the time anyway, so nothing has changed for her!

One of the projects I have been able to work on this very hot week is a gift box I made using the Stamping Bella image, Bianca Loves her Big Cake.  A good friend's birthday is just around the corner and I hope to send this box to her with something special inside, I just haven't figured out the something special yet.

Materials Used:
SU Scalloped Edge Punch
Spellbinder's Rose Creations dies
Pearls

I hope Bianca has a lot of friends to share her cake with, it sure is big!  Enjoy the rest of your day and STAY COOL!

I Brake For Stamps - Country Angel

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are staying cool on this sweltering Tuesday.  Can you believe this heat?  We upstate New Yorkers are used to a heat wave or two during the summer, but not this many or ones that last this long.  The spring was down right chilly and now we can't cool off.  Come on Mother Nature, enough of the mood swings!  I am so tired of the heat I am even thinking about winter.  I know, I know, bite my tongue, but if I am cooped up inside anyway, what is the difference?  On the positive side being cooped up in the air conditioning gives me the perfect excuse to be done in my craft room.  I've even almost gotten it clean the way I want it.

Today I am sharing with you a project I made using the I Brake For Stamps rubber stamp, Country Angel.  I grew up watching my mother paint many beautiful Country Angel images, she is an amazing Tole Painter, so I have a soft spot for these style of angels.  I think they are adorable and a nice image to have around the house.  Besides, I really do love angel images and this little cutie isn't an exception.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Large Border Punch
Magnolia Doohickey die
Stickles
Pearls

Well, stay cool everyone, I know we are going try to.  I don't think I have spent this much time in a pool, well, ever!  I may even be taking a swim with the kids now.  Scratch that, I am most likely taking a swim with the kids now!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

MarkerPop & Magnolia

Hi everyone, I'm back for my second post for today.  This time I made a caddy I found on Pinterest, yes Pinterest again, and added a few Magnolia images.  I also added a rose that was made using a tutorial I also found on, I'm sure you guessed it, Pinterest.  I don't know how I survived before Pinterest!  Apparently, I was just a shell of my current self!

Today's post is going to be a little picture heavy because I had to take many different angles to try and give you the idea of how the caddy looks.  I did use two Magnolia images today, Summer Flower Tilda and Tilda, Princess of the Valley.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers -Tilda's dress: B69, B66, B63, B60, Tilda's Shoes: E59, E29, E25, E31, E30, Tilda's Skin E13, E11, E01, E000, E0000, Tilda's Dress(pink): R29, RV29, RV25, RV23, RV10
Black Cat Cougar Cutter
SU Flower Punch
Pearls
Spellbinder's Decorative Circle die

I originally found the idea for the caddy from this blog HERE.  She talks about using a tutorial, but doesn't share a link.  Soooo, I had to make a template myself.  I have also been playing around with creating SVG files, boy am I still in the beginning stages of this one, so I thought I would try to make a few cutting files for this project as well.  I was successful in making a few cutting files, and several templates if you don't have a cutter.  You can find it all if you click HERE.  Not perfect, but it works well enough.  I've also added a set of directions and a few tips about how to use the templates and files I created.

If you want the tutorial on how to create the rose, then you can click HERE.  This is the blog that I originally found the rose tutorial.

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!  Hopefully it will be a nice day and we can all just enjoy a little time relaxing, or crafting, or both!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

The Sweet Stop Sketch #219

Good morning, I am happy to say that we are enjoying a day or two of reprieve from that awful humidity.  The windows are open and the air is absolutely comfortable, summer like.  This is what July should be, with a few days of humidity in between.  My son and I went outside, took a walk, picked some berries, and just enjoyed the absolutely beautiful day we had yesterday!  I don't think I could ask for anything more.  Unfortunately, the humidity and high temperatures are due to return tomorrow.  Of course this means more air conditioning and being cooped up inside, again, in the middle of summer.  Yuck!  It's amazing how much our day is determined by the weather.

Today I have a new card to share with you using our new sketch at The Sweet Stop.  For my card I used a Phindy's Place image, Bathing Beauty.

Here's a look at this week's sketch.

And, here is my card using the sketch.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Grand Circle and Scalloped Circle dies
Fiskars Punch
EK Success Beach Border Punch
Wild Orchid Flowers
Pearls

Now it's your turn to play along with us, but before you do please take a moment to stop by the blog and check out the projects created for you by the other Sugar Babies.
