The Sweet Stop Sketch #226

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your Saturday morning!  After a little crafty time I will be off to the grocery store and then some cleaning around the house.  I also plan on spending a little time with my boys and then more crafting, if there is any time left, of course.  This is the last hurrah for the summer so hopefully we will get a little outside time before the weather begins to cool off in the next few weeks.  Until then I have a card to share with you using this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop.  Believe it or not I had another family birthday this month, this time my father-in-law, so of course I have another birthday card.  The Sweet Stop sketches are so versatile and have been perfect for each of my birthday cards.

Here's a look at this week's sketch.

And, here's my card using this week's sketch.  My father-in-law is an amazing gardener so I used the Mo's Digital Pencil image, Gardener guy, for my card.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval die
SU sentiment stamp

Now it's your turn to follow our sketch and play along.  You'll find more samples using today's sketch at the challenge blog.  The other Sugar Babies have created some amazing projects to inspire you.  I hope you can stop by and check them out!
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Fabulous Inky Friday

Good morning my crafty friends, T-G-I-F!  How are you on this gorgeous Friday?  I am a little bummed as it is the last Friday of my summer vacation.  As usual it flew by and now we are back to school and back to reality.  Also, this is my little guys last year of daycare.  Next year he will be off to kindergarten and we all will be done with that chapter of our lives.  I am sooooo not ready for that yet.  AND, it gets worse, when he starts kindergarten my daughter starts the end of her high school career.  Yup, she'll be a senior, another end to an era!  That's too many ends at once for me, I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it!

Today it is Fabulous Inky Friday over at Tiddly Inks and for my project I used the image, Thanks Fairy Much, plus a few extras.  I'm not usually good at using the extras in a digi set, but I did this time.  I added a few extra flowers to her hair and clothes and my sentiment came from the extras set as well.

I am using another background this week, I bought this one when I bought the last from Make It Crafty and it fit perfect with Christy's fabulous fairy image, so I used it.  It's the Sunflower Garden Background Stamp.

Materials Used:
CopicMarkers
Cheery Lynn Designs Black Eyed Susan die
MS Border Punch
MS Frond Punch
Stickles
SU Circle And Scalloped Punch

Now of course the other Tiddly Inks DT ladies have the most amazing projects to share with you so I hope you can take some time to stop by the challenge blog to see what they have created!  Trust me, you'll be glad that you did!
Enjoy your last Friday in August!

I Brake For Stamps- Cammy in the Wind

Happy Tuesday morning everyone!  Today the kids and I are off to do some Back To School shopping.  My little guy isn't going back to school just yet, he is still 4 and his daycare does a great job teaching preschool skills, but he has grown several inches this summer and is in desperate need of new clothes.  The hard part is that with all those grown inches he has only gained 8 ounces and so finding clothes that fit his length and don't fall down is going to be difficult.  Today's shopping is a family affair as my mother, sister and her kids go with us as well.  We have been doing this since my daughter was in first grade and she is a junior in high school this year!  It's kind of a tradition and even though we will be dragging 5 kids shopping I am looking forward to it.  Who knows, maybe I'll even get a few back to school things for myself!

Today I am sharing a project using the I Brake For Stamps image, Cammy in the Wind.  I made a center step card as I haven't made one in awhile and I was looking for something different this time around.  I also used some bolder colors, red and black, which I haven't used in a little while either.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
Wild Orchid Flowers
MS Frond Punch
MS Border Punch
Black Rhinestones
Glossy Accents

Well, I'm off to shop.  I hope you enjoy your Tuesday!

MarkerPop - Sweet Sparkle

Hi everyone, how are you doing on this early Monday morning.  I am off to school again to keep working on getting my classroom ready.  I have a lot done but still have to set up a few areas and add some odd and ends.  Hopefully these additions will help our day run a little smoother once school begins.  Besides, it helps calm my opening day jitters.  A new group of unknown kids makes me just as nervous as it makes them.

Today I am sharing with you a project using the Wee Stamps image, Sweet Sparkle.  I think this image lives up to it's name and of course I had to add a little sparkle to really help this cutie shine.  I also used a new color combination that I found on Pinterest.  It's a great dark Crimson color and I just love it!  You can find the colors I used below.

Materials Used:
Marianne Designs Butterfly die
Wild Orchid Flowers

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!  Enjoy this last week of August!

It's official, summer is almost over.  T-minus 7 plus days and counting.  Then reality steps back in and we are back to school and back to work.  The weather is already beginning to have cooler evenings and warmer days.  I love these kinds of evenings and days, I just think they are so refreshing and almost relaxing.

Today at The Sweet Stop we have a new sketch for you and of course you know that I love it!  Here's what today's sketch looks like.

This week it was my nephew's birthday, 14, wow!  I used our sketch to make his card and the image on the card is the Saturated Canary image, Joey.

MarkerPop - Sweet Pea Stamps, Summer Daisie

Soooo, I have fallen in love with making these note pad/ note holders that I found HERE on Pinterest.  Once I made my first one I saw the possibilities in what I could do with them.  I thought they would make a great Back to School gift for my family and friends who I work with.  Yesterday I shared one that I made for myself using a Tiddly Inks image and today I am sharing one that I made for my mother using the Sweet Pea Stamps image, Summer Daisie.  My mom works at the same school that I do and is a teacher's aide, so I thought she could use this on her desk as well.

I Brake For Stamps - Pretty Pumpkin

Hi all, I'm back for my second post of the day.  I started my day with Back to School and now I am moving onto fall.  I'm not trying to rush the year along, really, but these images are just so wonderful and these events are coming up on us quickly!  Besides, up until now the August weather has made us feel like fall is just around the corner.

This time I am sharing with you a card using the I Brake For Stamps image, Pretty Pumpkin.  This is a Chelsea Le Designs image and I happen to just love these cuties.  I also added a background to this card, I guess it is the day for backgrounds.  This is a fall harvest background from Isabella's Sketchbook.

Tiddly Inks - School Day Fun

Well, it's crunch time now.  T-minus less then two weeks and counting and then school will be back in session in my neck of the woods.  I have gotten a lot done with the set up of my classroom and now it is time to think about the other aspects of the first day of school.  Planning, scheduling, what activities we will be doing on the first day and so much more.  I feel the push now and my next two weeks will be filled with the end of summer activities combined with school day preparation activities.  I'm not going to blink at all over these next two weeks because if I do I may miss it all!

Talking about back to school brings us to our new challenge over at Tiddly Inks.  This time around our challenge is School Day Fun, and what a great time to have this challenge!  Create a Back to School project and then link it up to our challenge blog.  Don't forget to use a Tiddly Inks image, Christy has so many great ones that are just perfect for this challenge.  When you stop by to see the cards created by the rest of the Tiddly Inks DT you will see what I mean.

Now, since I am a teacher I thought it would be fitting for me to use Christy's image, Teacher, for my project today.  Even better, this sweet image is only a dollar in the store, you just can't go wrong with that!  And, also in honor of mwah I decided to make my project to sit on my desk at school.  I was originally inspired by THIS project on Pinterest but I modified it just slightly to fit my needs.

Since I am a primary school teacher I love to use primary school colors on my school projects.  I also have been in such awe of the amazing backgrounds created by my fellow Tiddly Inks DT members that I decided to give one a try myself.  You really need to see how awesome these ladies are with their backgrounds!  I couldn't find any I thought would fit with my project so I decided to use this tree from MIC.  I think of it as the tree of knowledge!

Copic Markers

Now it's your turn!  I can't wait to see what you create!

The Sweet Stop Sketch #224 with a Twist

Well, here we are, back to Saturday and the weekend.  The countdown until the end of summer has begun and the air has been crisp in the morning and the evenings.  This year we haven't had the typical August heat either so it really feels like fall is on it's way.  A few more summer weekends and then back to school, apples and fall colors.  I'm sending my little guy back to day care on Monday for the last two weeks of summer so I can use the time to get everything ready for my new class to arrive and he can get back in the swing of things before it gets too crazy to give him a little extra TLC when he gets home.  I'll miss our days together but I am grateful that I've had the extra time to spend with the kids this summer.

Today at The Sweet Stop we have a new sketch for you, it's Sketch #224 and we've added a twist, SUNFLOWERS.  So, follow our sketch AND add some sunflowers in your project along the way.  I know you can do it, the challenge entries are always so amazing and inspiring.  I can't wait to see what everyone creates this time!

For my project this week I used the Sweet and Sassy image, Peek-A-Boo Sophie.  I colored Sophie to look like a sunflower and used sunflower patterned paper on my background.

Let's start with a look at this week's sketch.  As a first for me I turned the sketch around, wild and crazy,I know, LOL!

And now a look at my card.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Fiskars Flower Punch
Marianne Designs die

Of course the other Sugar Babies have the most fabulous projects to share with you!  I hope you can take the time to stop by the challenge blog to check them out!

Can you believe all of the fabulous creations found at the Tiddly Inks New Release Blog Hop yesterday?  Didn't the design team just blow your socks away?  How about those new images from Christy, can you believe how fabulous they are?  If you missed it you'll want to take the time to stop by, especially since there are prizes at the end.  Just click HERE to get to my original blog hop post where you will find all the links to the new image projects by the rest of the Tiddly Inks team.

Now onto today's Tiddly Inks post, which is our Fabulous Inky Friday post.  Creations by the design team using some of the most fabulous images around, the Tiddly Inks images of course!  I used the newer image, Spell on Ya for my project today.  This was a discount image that Christy added recently and it is just adorable!  I'm not sure my project did this great image justice, I am currently fighting a case of the no mojo blues.  I know it goes around in the crafting world from time to time, I guess it's stopped at my door this time around.

Boitatou and a Journal

I have fallen in love with the Boitatou boxes and the amazing projects that the others on the design team come up with!  These boxes are really quite versatile and you can use them for so many wonderful projects.  For my project today I made a journal to go inside the Boitatou.  I actually thought it could be used as a reading journal as I used the image Alicia Loves Reading from Alicia's Little Shop for the cover.  My daughter loves to read and often likes to write about what she reads so I am going to save today's project and give it to her for Christmas.

I took several pictures from different perspectives so you could see how the journal looks next to the box and how it looks inside the box.
