Tiddly Inks - Fabulous Inky Friday

It's been one of those weeks.  You know, the ones where you spend every evening feeling like you are going to fall over.  It's not that life has been incredibly terrible, because it hasn't, but busy and overwhelming.  Of course, I should have known that this week was going to be this way.  We just went back after our winter break with two days tagged on as snow days.  Of course the minute I feel rested life gets overwhelming and crazy again.  Isn't that just the way the world works?

Well, on this wonderful day (wonderful because it is FRIDAY)  we have some inspiring projects to share with you at Tiddly Inks.  Today's the day that us Tiddly Inks DT create projects using our favorite Tiddly Inks images.  Of course, I have to tell you that they are all my favorites so it is always hard to choose just one.  Today for my project I used one of the new skater images, Wryn Skater Girl.  I got a little carried away on her face, which I'm not to happy with, especially her nose.

This project is a mixed media journal.  It has heavier paper inside so that the pages can be layered with mixed media materials.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's dies
Bella's Baubles
Book Rings

Well, I don't know about you but I'm hoping for a restful weekend, after I clean, grocery shop, etc.  Hopefully all of you are having a better week than I am.  The other Tiddly Inks DT ladies sure have created some amazing and gorgeous creations.  Just stop by the challenge blog to check them out.

Have a gorgeous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Tiddly Inks Tuesday - Primary Colors

Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday!  We are on winter break here in upstate NY, which is good since we are still trying to get out from under all this snow.  AND, we are supposed to be getting more today, ugh!  Nowhere near the 14+ we got already, but enough is enough.  Poor hubby has been spending days, not just hours, but days cleaning up this mess.  Then he has head up to work as well.  I love winter until it gets like this I am ready for spring.  Right now I am feeling like it just can't get here soon enough!

Today at Tiddly Inks we have a new challenge to share with you!  Our challenge this time around is Primary Colors, use red, blue and/or yellow in our project.  For my project for this challenge I used the Tiddly Inks image, Starry Birthday.  I think primary colors are good for a birthday or any kind of happy cheerful card.  The other Tiddly Inks DT have created the most amazing projects to share with you.  If you haven't done it yet I hope you take a moment to stop by the blog and check them out.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval dies
SU Circle and Scalloped Circle Punches
Glossy Accents
Recollections Embellishments
CM Square Punch

Well, that's all for now!  I hope you plan on joining our challenge this time around!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Boitatou and a Sketch

Hi everyone, I am back for my second post of the day.  This time I am posting a project using a Boitatou and the sketch for this month's challenge at Boitatou.  It is such a wonderful sketch and I decided to use a Magnolia image for this one.  It's a winter image, but it's a cute one.  And, to be fair I have had it colored up for awhile.  It's a shame that winter images are so gosh darn adorable, especially at this point of the winter when a girl has just had enough.

Here's the sketch they are using at Boitatou for this month's challenge.

And here is my Boitatou using this sketch. The Magnolia image I used is called Snow Tilda.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Spellbinder's dies
Memory Box dies
Wild Orchid Flowers
SU Scalloped Border Punch

Well, that really is it for me today.  AND, it's my final post as a member of the Boitatou DT.  I've enjoyed being part of this team and working with such a great product.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!

A NEW and OLD Adventure

Like many of you I am a craft addict.  I admit it!  If there were a program out there for people like us I am sure my hubby would make sure I was in it.  In my defense I have no other major addictions, except maybe reading, and even that one doesn't compare to my need for crafting.  Many years ago I had several "crafty" genre's that I enjoyed and I chose to focus in on Paper Crafts as it was my favorite and I wanted to focus my effort at getting good at one area.  Don't get me wrong, I didn't give up my other crafty favorites entirely, but they were certainly put on the back burner.  At the end of last year I decided I needed to add my favorites back in to keep my creative juices flowing.  Paper Crafts is still my favorite and I am in my craft space coloring or putting a project together every day, but I am also playing around with beads and a little sewing as well.

During our holiday break I made a little sewing area for my machine and other sewing tools.  Not as easy to get into as the others, but it is there when I need it.  I really want to try and make a quilt again, I love making those.  I'm not super skilled at it but I do enjoy putting them together.

Where I have really fallen hard again is jewelry making.  Not just stringing beads and stones together but stitching jewelry, which also falls  into my love of sewing by hand category.  Now in the evenings I get comfortable and play around with as many beads as I can.  It's slow going, I am such a beginner, but I am in love.  I've already gone to a super fun bead sale with my sister-in-law, who is the expert.  You can find her amazing jewelry at her store, Pure Bliss Jewelry.  If you have never stopped by I highly recommend you check it out.  I've made a few gifts and now I am working on a big project for myself.  There are others as well but this is all ready a long post, so I won't get into it.  Today I am sharing with you a few projects I made for family.  One uses Delica seed beads, a recommendation from my sister-in-law, and if you are in the market for seed beads I highly recommend them to you.  The second uses double whole Super Duo beads.  That one took FOREVER and was taken apart several times before being finished.  This is what I gave my daughter for Valentine's Day.

This necklace I made using Delica seed beads and decreasing/increasing brick stitch.  A lot of little glitches here and there but not bad for my first try at this stitch.  If you saw the green box with matching card a few posts ago, this is the necklace that went inside the box.

My daughter's Valentine's Day gift.  Not sure she really liked it but it was fun trying to put it together.  The earring were supposed to be hearts as well but I just couldn't get that to work.

Well, I just thought you might like to see what else I have been up to lately.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Stay dry and warm

Tiddly Inks Fabulous Inky Friday

Hi all, Happy Valentine's Day!  Our Valentine's Day present here in the North East is a whopper of a snowstorm, which has basically affected much of the Northeast.  No school yesterday and they put us on a 2 hour delay last night but I can't imagine us ever making it to school.  We shall see, I'm inside nice and warm for now.

Today is Fabulous Inky Friday at Tiddly Inks!  I'm "resharing" a project I created for the wonderful new images Christy just released.  Today's project is a birthday box I created with the new Ellie image.  A cutie, for sure!!  And, of course you can always find even more projects created by the rest of my teamies at Tiddly Inks.  Those ladies are awesome, I hope you can take a minute to check out what they have done.

Materials Used:
Copic Markers
Jolee Embellishments
MS large Border Punch

I hope you are staying warm, dry and safe where you live!  Enjoy your Valentine's Day!

Boitatou and a Birthday

Hi everyone, we are at the beginning of a massive snow storm and I am in heaven because it's a snow day!  Hooray!  A much needed snow day, sometimes we all get a little cranky from being cooped up here in the northeast, kids and teachers alike, and a day where you HAVE to stay home and regroup is always refreshing!  My aunt is the lucky one, today is her birthday and she is a teacher too and she gets a snow day as a birthday present.  Lucky her!  I want to give a big shout out to her for her birthday.

Today's project is actually part of her birthday present.  I have made my Boitatou box to match the card I made for her several weeks ago and then I am working on a necklace to go inside.  I know, I know, it's her birthday and I should be finished by now but it's been hard to get to it.  Luckily adults don't expect presents exactly on the day of their birthday like kids do.  Besides, with the snow I'm not going anywhere.

I used the Tiddly Inks image, Cat Fever for my Boitatou and a mixture of greens as green is her favorite color.

Here's the card and Boitaou together.

Materials Used:
Spellbinder's Oval dies
Wild Orchid Flowers
Magnolia Doohickey dies

Enjoy your day everyone!  If you are knee deep in snow I hope you are lucky enough to stay home as well!  If not, be safe!
