Playing Around with Color

Lately I've really been playing around with color.  I've been trying out new color combos with my copics and trying to feather two color families together to create a unique colored image.  Alyce of Kit and Clowder has reignited my mojo and I've been stepping out of the box creatively in ways I just don't think I have before.

Today I am sharing with you three such images, colored only, as I haven't had a minute to put them onto a project yet.  I usually color before I go to work in the morning, yes, I do get up that early, and then create my projects when I can on the weekends.  I've used three images from three different companies by three amazing digital image artists.  The first is Alison by Tiddly Inks, she's always been one of my Tiddly Inks favorites.  I've also colored Fairy, by Mo's Digital Pencil.  This is going to go onto a project for my grandmother's 80th birthday.  The last one is Daphne Sprite by Aurora's Wings.  (P.S., I was just at Aurora's Wings and this image is still on sale.  Hurry on over if you would like to get her at half price!)  This one I was able to get for half price and I entered her into a coloring competition over at Kit and Clowder.

So, that's what I have been up to this week, besides work and kids and life, well, you know!  I hope you are having a fabulous and creative weekend!
Enjoy your Saturday!

Fall Colors

I love fall colors!  Living in the Northeast you often get to see such beautiful fall foliage and you can really see the most gorgeous combination of colors come to life.  It's often what I think of when I create my fall inspired cards. My favorite fall colors to use seem to be brown and orange, but a deep yellow and red really inspire me as well.  Today I have two cards completely fall inspired with amazing fall images.  The two images are from two different companies.  The first is a rubber stamp Saturated Canary image, Autumn, and the second is a Mo's Digital Pencil image, Fall Fairy Jensen.  I find both of these images so inspiring and was happy to create with them again.

I played around with color combinations with both of these images.  Although the combos are subtle they are copics that I personally haven't thought to use together before.  Such as her dress, I used the color combination YR18, YR07, YR04, YR21, YR20, YR30.  Even though they are all in the same color family they are colors that I have never put together before.

It was the same for the fairies leaves.  For this combination I used E39, E35, E33, E31, Y21, YR30.  A lot of colors I know, but I wanted to make sure I had the right combination that blended correctly and gave the shading for the leaf wings.

I hope you all are having a fabulous Monday.  We have the day off in school for Columbus Day, which really just means an extra day to get some crafts and work done.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Soooo, I actually completed four cards this weekend, WOW!  That is the most I have completed at one time in a very long time.  To be very fair, most of the images have been colored for a little while just waiting to be used for something.  My mojo returned enough this weekend for that to happen,

Since I created so many cards I posted two on Sunday and now I am posting another two today.  What better way to usher in October than with two fall/Halloween images.  They both are devilishly fabulous, heehee, and just ready for some Halloween fun!

The first is a card using the Simply Betty image, Devilish Betty.  You're going to laugh but this one came out of ANOTHER fun contest at Kit and Clowder.  This one for her 4,0000 follower party!  The next image is a Saturated Canary image, one of my top favorite digital stamp companies.  This image is Fast Food Fly By.  I've had this one for a while, I probably purchased it just after she released it, but I am just now coloring her and putting her one a card!

I just knew she needed a red dress and it really makes her pop, don't you think?!

For the first time in a long time I have had two posts in one week, Yea!  I remember when I used t be excited by two posts in one day!  I hope to be back soon!
Enjoy the first day of October!
