Easter

I know we are past Easter, but I wanted to share with you the cards that I made to give to my family.  It was so refreshing to make spring cards with spring colors after the harsh winter we had.  Even Easter was cold and damp, blech.  We have finally moved onto some sun and warmer weather and I am grateful for the change.

My first card uses an image from Aurora's Wings.  She has such beautiful images and this one isn't any exception.  The image is called Calla Lily Sprite and she is just beautiful.  I absolutely love Calla Lilies, especially since they were the flower I had in my bouquet at my wedding.  And, as you can see from my image, they were yellow and white.  I colored in a more light hand with this one, which I don't often do, but I absolutely love the way this image came out!

I colored my image using copic markers and embellished it with Wild Orchid Flowers.  Amazingly enough I had some Calla Lilies in my stash so I added them as well.  I used Cheery Lynn dies for my flourish embellishment, a Fiskars Punch for my foliage and some pretty sparkle embellishments from Michael's.  Her eyes have Glossy Accent on them.  I really love to make eyes sparkle.

My next two cards use Saturated Canary images, as you know another favorite shop of mine!  The images I used for these cards are Egg Hunt and Duck, Duck, Goose.  You can't have Easter without some really adorable Easter images!

More Copics, Wild Orchid Flowers and Fiskars punch for this one.  I also used a Spellbinder's die and a few Recollections flowers from Michael's again.  Those are the ones with the sequins and shine.  I can't help it, I really love my BLING!

Copics, Wild Orchid and Prima flowers, Spellbinder's die, Cheery Lynn Designs flourish die and a Martha Stewart border punch for this cutie.  A few pearls as well.  I know you can see the glue on the pearls but I was too busy to let the glue dry before I took the picture.  The eyes have some glossy accents.  I had trouble with her hair and kept playing at it until at least I found it tolerable.

I hope you are having a good end to your week!

Boy's Birthday

Last weekend the family finished up with our March birthdays with a party for two of my younger cousins.  They are much younger than me so, closer to my son's age, so I had to figure out what style of card to make.  Male cards are my least favorite to begin with as I can't add any bling, boohoo.  I have improved on my male cards since I started this journey, so I take heart in that.

The first card uses the Phindy's Place image, Little Squirt.  Sadly, this wonderful digital stamp store is closed but I just loved this adorable image and thought it was perfect for my younger cousin.

I colored this cutie with my copic markers and used a Martha Stewart Punch for the Happy Birthday border.  A simple Spellbinder's oval die for the background and a few Bella's Baubles for some extra embellishment.  I just needed to add that little extra to give the card a little personality.

The other card, for my slightly older cousin who likes sports, is Joey from Saturated Canary.

Joey is colored in bright colors because every time I see my cousin he is wearing a bright fluorescent color.  Another oval Spellbinder's die and the Martha Stewart Happy Birthday punch for this card.  Of course I added a few Bella's Baubles here as well.  A little "Male Bling"  you might say.

Well, that's it for me today.  Two more days of spring break and then back to work for me.  We used too many snow days so we have to go to school on Friday, what should be the last official day of break.  It's been cold and damp this break anyway, so I won't be missing the warm weather.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
